I’m out near Lurgan so if people closer to Belfast are still waiting this late in the day I’m not holding out much hope.
Yeah same, can't imagine they'll be delivering to remote areas at night. I have been told any leftovers will be out first thing tomorrow but they assured me that all went out today had to be attempted to be delivered

The verdict

iPhone 17 speakers better
Feels more iPhone like
Has the positive can still use physical SIM card

iPhone air feels great. Speakers just okay. Pro chip feels faster and the larger screen is noticeable and very thin. Similar to M4 IPad Pro or iPod touch.

I have both as don’t want to compromise the Pro is a nice phone looks wise but offers little over the 17 model.

not a chance this is coming via yodel today. still not left the national depot.

In the time since i've been researching, turns out inpost and yodel merged this week, sacked a load of the drivers and there's a 4 day national backlog!!

Why on earth they have been used for a "delivered on release item" i have no idea

collected my 17 pro max and the wife’s gold air at 10.30 this morning. I’ve still not opened my pro max yet.

I’m so impressed by the air I think I may swap to it. Been to Apple Store this afternoon to have a look at them all and it was the black air that blew my socks off.

What I was surprised by was that the black tech woven case is lovely. Once the phone is in that case I can forget it’s not the nicest design underneath. But it is heavy and chunky.

Guy at Apple said he’d had 5 customers swap from pro to air today so seems I’m not the only one.

The novelty will probably wear off and I’ll miss the mega battery and cameras🫤
So far so good here, but if anything lures me back it'll be the extra lenses on the Pro cameras.

Using the front camera with the zoom out option is a great workaround for losing the ultra wide. Decent shots of anything you want in ultra wide using that camera.

But the 3x/new 8x... 🤔

Not surprised Apple rep reported people swapping though.

Am glad I got the white as my intuition the black model might be susceptible to scratches seems to be bearing fruit. It's essential for me as a never-a-case guy to get what holds up best.

Would have loved a 'natural titanium' colour with a more silver/grey back but we move!

My wife’s silver 17 Pro came this afternoon and she’s very happy with it, despite the transfer failing constantly and Apple having to be contacted. I know it’s irrelevant to me as I use a case anyway but the feel in the hand initially, doesn’t feel as premium as the other Pros I’ve owned. I know it’s a great phone, but it’s a shame they couldn’t have used titanium around the cameras at least. Just my observation and kind of hoping it’s not like this next time I upgrade.

Can someone do me a favour please? go to their apple online account and select their new device then ''Check return eligibility'' - is it saying ''Your order is no longer eligible for return.''?

Was genuinely excited for the first time in years for iPhone and the delivery is a total screw up!

I don’t see how the number of deliveries is more than other years, yet on those years they generally managed.

In my view this is what happens when things get farmed out to the cheapest bidder who isn’t really running a delivery company as we know it.

Anyone on EE struggling with eSIM activation?
I had an absolute nightmare with eSIM transfer with EE last year. It required a couple of calls to customer service and it did take a while for them to resolve. However, prior to that I'd never had a problem with eSIM transfers on EE, certainly not with the phone. The cellular watch on the other hand has always been a problem with EE, for me anyway.

I’m not surprised. Air just looks so much better than the Pro’s. In fact it looks better than any iPhone… there I’ve said it.

Wired transfer from old phone took nearly 3 hours, but worked

EE eSIM transfer not so… followed the prompts to move number to new phone, stuck on Activating for about half an hour and failed.
Tried again using the app and QR code, same result…

It was last year or the year before I had the same issue… trip to an EE store first thing tomorrow, and if they do the same as last time, they’ll give me a physical sim with my number, and then convert to eSIM on the phone itself.

The concept of eSIM only phones is appealing, but my experience transferring between phones over the years with EE has been very hit and miss.
So strange, I went EE eSIM to EE eSIM… completed within 5 mins.

Question for those with a new phone about the new front camera.

If you press the zoom out button, it disables Centre Stage. Fine... but do you have to manually turn it back on (Auto Zoom and Auto Rotate) every time? Bit annoying if so - I'd prefer it to turn back on when you reopen the app at least?

DHL Parcel (UK Mail) who it used to be merged with Evri and the contract was given to DHL Express for the first time and they haven't been prepared for it by the looks of it

Is anyone noticing better mobile network signal with their Air when compared with their old phones?

I don't own one (yet?), but it's something I'm very interested in.
