Are web pages stuttering slightly when scrolling. Didn’t notice this on my 13 pro max
Not for me (that I’ve noticed), 17 pro max. Using chrome.
Check “limit frame rate” isn’t enabled.
Settings - accessibility - motion - limit frame rate.
I tried enabling it to save battery life on my 15 pro max, but things got jumpy (and I don’t mean just not as smooth).

I collected mine at 10:20 yesterday from the Apple Store. In and out in 15 mins. Setup from my 15PM to the 17PM was flawless-I let it transfer from the 15PM. Only thing I’ve lost is the orders I made yesterday morning on my 15 in the Wallet app-they don’t show in the 17, although orders from a few weeks ago do.

Love the orange-nice to not be tied to a muted colour because it’s a Pro. Loved my Red XR back in the day, so well happy to have a bolder colour.

I’ve got a cheap Spigen clear case coming today, but I opted for a black TW case for work: nice little ‘pop’ of colour. I tend to use the phone naked when I get home, even out at the weekends, but maybe not for a few weeks.

Also took a couple of photos of the size difference between the 15PM and the 17PM. Not loads in it but you can see. Doesn’t feel any different though.

OK. I get this. It's brand new, just unboxed, and we want our phone to be spotless.

However, when I see microscratches like this, I can't help thinking: do you realise that over the course of its lifetime it will inevitably accumulate more and more of these marks? Do you think you will be able to keep it pristine in the months to come? And what are you going to do then?

They'll put a Band-Aid on it and call it a day... life goes on.

Maybe you are programmed that way but not me. If wear tear happens it happens but not brand new out of the box. I'm paying Apple my hard earned money to buy something that is supposed to be brand new and not refurbed. Im sure if you are running a business you wont list that as new? You can catch the scratch with finger nail and actually see the metal.

Simple question will you buy a factory ordered car like this?

I would hardly notice a scratch like that on a car, but of course let's assume that it would be proportional to the size of the car: still exceedingly small, I'm not sure I'd go with a magnifying lens all over the surface at the car dealer. Maybe. Let's say yes.

It would appear that these microscratches are unavoidable under normal use over a sustained period. These objects are not jewels and are not meant to be showcased under a microscope.

Yes it costs a lot. Every Apple product costs more than it should and could.

But then, this is a good occasion to consider whether we are attaching too much self-worth to the ownership of a tech gadget, whose power often exceeds our needs and at the same time lacks features offered by the competitors (for less price).

Personally, I am having hard time in trying to justify to myself why for the first time I spent so much for a phone when the one I am currently using is good enough and working fine. And frankly, I can't find a rational reason.

I'm having regrets. 🫤
As I said before, I'm still overseas, my Deep Blue has been delivered, waiting to be unboxed. But now I think I should have been bolder and taken the Orange. I like it more in the photos: it looks sometimes bright and loud, sometimes more sober and almost textured. I suppose it depends the light conditions. I also like more its two tones.

Obviously I’m a little bias because I have Cosmic Orange, but I really don’t get the hate. It’s a lovely colour, even the two tone rear. Talking to my brother earlier, the only thing I’ve got to get used to is the solid ‘plateau’. On my 15PM the camera bump was glass and had some translucency as a result-it wasn’t a major feature, but it’s noticeable the plateau isn’t like this.

But aside from that, well happy with it, and glad I went bold.
