Thanks for all the messages everyone. Two days into the Cosmic Orange Pro now and some quick rhoughts:

- Yes, it’s fundamentally the same as the 16 Pro, but I get a new one each year and appreciate the following in particular..
- outdoors the screen does seem brighter
- the battery life does seem stronger
- I’m appreciating the 4 and 8 times tele
- I wonder if the signal is a bit stronger too, might just be because I’ve been testing at a weekend, different weather conditions etc and it’s not exactly ground breaking, but in those spots I got really poor speeds (0.5-1.5mb) it does now seem 0.5mb ish better. Again needs more testing and I’m sure there will be videos out there to really test it.
- the rest is all iOS 26 so can’t really claim that as the phone.
- the orange…. Whilst I like it, I would have liked it a shade or two deeper and punchy. It’s a bit like when I wanted an orange watch band and at that time the papaya was on sale, but it just felt a bit muted (I can see where the salmon comments come from), when I then bought a second hand original “orange” band I liked it much more. Still it’s nice to change it up and maybe the more reserved orange is why lots of people seem to be coming round to liking it (and plenty that still don’t 😜) but for me an even more vibrant orange would have been even better.

Until next year and hopefully a “fold” that provides a pro phone, all speakers and lenses present, with an iPad mini and ipadOS on the inside (drools) 🙌

Going to decide between the colours, haven't opened the blue one yet. ESR Armorite screen protectors arrived today. Still need to get a case. Thinking blue TechWoven case but seems to be out of stock everywhere. Apple saying 21st of October! Went to Apple Store yesterday, was packed, the iPhone Air looks and feels nice but too many compromises for me. Also had a look at the cases, I like the green, purple, black, blue and sienna Techwoven. So nearly all of them!

I got the iPhone 17 and Air decided to sell the 17. I was hoping to keep one as my spare but I prefer the iPhone 11 on iOS 18. I prefer the lightness of the air. eSIM is a pain but I find the standard 17 boring so finding best to sell and keep the Air as my main one

So I received my Blue PM 1TB on Friday, popped to John Lewis to exchange my watch (sent the wrong band and the watch has a little nick on it) - looked at the Air and tbh I was kinda like, ooohhhh thats nice. Partner ordered an Air which is coming today and I think I am going to sell my PM for the Air, hope I dont regret it, but it feels kinda underwhelming compared to the Air

Anyone in the next window 24-29th had any updates this morning?
No movement, no money taken so far. Often, Apple is slightly ahead of the predicted delivery window, or at least fulfills orders in the early part of the window, but it will depend on where we all are in the order queue.

I ordered a black iPhone 17 on Saturday from Apple.

It's still being processed and expected delivery is between 7th-14th October.

Why sell and not return? Can you sell it for more than the market price?

In case anyone is interested, I just took my 16PM to Timpsons to do a MusicMagpie trade in. Cost me £10 but I'd pay for special delivery, have to pack the phone, wait days, etc. so feels like it's good value.

They checked the phone out in store, took a few mins, and said all done. Within 15 mins of leaving I had an email to say they'd sent the full payment and my Monzo account alerted me that the money had arrived, so very happy with the service.

Now that things have died down im actually enjoying the phone and iOS 26. I like liquid glass and the new animations and transitions. Lock screen customisation is nice and having widgets not stuck at the top is useful.

Still some bugs but overall not bad.

I dunno if they updated the keyboard as well but i think going to 6.3’ from 6.1 has also helped my typing become less frustrating.

Overall I’m enjoying it a lot more than when i got my iPhone 16P
