i dont mean to lower the tone, but this post reminds me greatly of my dear departed dad and his battle with constipation due to liver disease. We all waited with baited breath for updates on movement and had massive relief when the package was finally delivered. Sorry i havent slept well and that thought just popped into my head and needed to be shared haha.

Finally got my hands on my Air after being away for the weekend. Surprised how nice and light it feels in the hands. It’s awesome - it actually tempting me to go caseless this year - have any reviewers done any drop tests on this?

Setup was a bad experience though. I tried the WiFi transfer which failed, then restore from iCloud which failed once, then hung on a blank screen. Making progress on the 4th attempt but it’s slow. Restoring my bank accounts and wallet is going to be painful. Hopefully WhatsApp isn’t.

For everyone else with the air, what’s your experience been like so far?

My plan had been to keep the Air but also to keep my iPhone 16 as a back-up and for times when the Air’s single camera is a frustration.

Yesterday, I packed up the 16 to send it to Apple for trade-in credit.

Switching from the Air to the 16 was like going back in time. The Air is the first Apple device since the Apple Watch that has got me excited again.

I’m actually becoming quite irritated by vloggers and some posters to these forums who are determined to trash the Air over trivial issues that are either non-existent or just don’t matter for most people.

I watched Marques Brownlee’s smug review this morning and I thought “This is why we can’t have nice things. You are going to drive people away from the Air and Apple will consider it a flop and will give up.”

If you look for reviews from actual Air owners — real people — there seems to be a unanimity of view that it’s a great phone. But if you read comments from people who have never even picked one up in real life, they’ll tell you how terrible it is.

I have had zero battery issues. The one speaker is plenty loud. (And if you are watching a movie on an iPhone using the speakers then I don’t know what to say to you.) The Air is probably the most physically robust iPhone ever made. It has one of the largest screens yet it is the lightest phone Apple sells. And it’s gorgeous.

Yes. Only one camera lens. No more dramatic wide screen shots of American landscapes for me. Oh. Wait. I’m not Ansel Adams.

I saw a good comment under one of these YT reviews of the Air. It went something along the lines of these content creators forget that they are in the minority as users of phones. And most ordinary people will have very different needs.

Trade-In with Barclays Financing

I bought an iPhone 15 on a 24-month Barclays finance plan (1 payment left).

If I trade it in for an iPhone 17, does it matter if I do it now before the plan ends or after it’s fully paid? Will there be any difference in trade-in value, AppleCare, or the buying process?

It's my daughter's phone, and I’m planning to get the iPhone 17 again with Barclays financing, as a Christmas gift or should I get it now??

I did the same. They use the trade in value you get if you sell it via apple, to pay off your old 15 and then add any left to pay off some of the new 17. So no, it doesnt matter how you do it. Oh and remember that trade in value drops , so for the best price on your old 15 now is the time to trade it in.

That's exactly what I do every 2 years except for this time where I've bought the phone outright due to having an Apple F&F discount that dropped the price of upgrade considerably :)

I still have to laugh at the YT account “YrAvgConsumer” who is anything but an “Average Consumer” with all his Apple freebies etc.

I prefer accounts like Everyday Dad etc.

My "Arrives 24 - 29th September" iPhone Pro Max 256GB Cosmic Orange has now moved to "Shipped" and I have received tracking, being delivered by DHL, so expect delivery tomorrow. Have also received an email regarding the trade-in of my current iPhone.

They're literally delivering them on the week of the 24-29. I was hoping that they would've addressed those deliveries from Monday onwards.

Wow EE have really messed up preorders this year:

Multiple cases in their forums of people who ordered just last week receiving phones, ehile people who ordered the same phone on the 12th are being told to wait till October.

Also for me, they somehow got a random phone number attached to the DPD delivery, so the PIN was sent to that rather than to me…

I learned this when the DPD driver came this morning, handed me the phone, then had to take it back as I had no pin.

I don’t know if I’m crazy but my Sky Blue Air looks white. I can’t seem to see the hint of blue on the titanium frame. It’s looks silver to me what ever angle I look at it.

It’s got to be a very subtle Blue
