what’s your experience been like so far?
My plan had been to keep the Air but also to keep my iPhone 16 as a back-up and for times when the Air’s single camera is a frustration.
Yesterday, I packed up the 16 to send it to Apple for trade-in credit.
Switching from the Air to the 16 was like going back in time. The Air is the first Apple device since the Apple Watch that has got me excited again.
I’m actually becoming quite irritated by vloggers and some posters to these forums who are determined to trash the Air over trivial issues that are either non-existent or just don’t matter for most people.
I watched Marques Brownlee’s smug review this morning and I thought “This is why we can’t have nice things. You are going to drive people away from the Air and Apple will consider it a flop and will give up.”
If you look for reviews from actual Air owners — real people — there seems to be a unanimity of view that it’s a great phone. But if you read comments from people who have never even picked one up in real life, they’ll tell you how terrible it is.
I have had zero battery issues. The one speaker is plenty loud. (And if you are watching a
movie on an iPhone using the speakers then I don’t know what to say to you.) The Air is probably the most physically robust iPhone ever made. It has one of the largest screens yet it is the lightest phone Apple sells. And it’s gorgeous.
Yes. Only one camera lens. No more dramatic wide screen shots of American landscapes for me. Oh. Wait. I’m not Ansel Adams.
