Have done my "Get Ready" for pre order: 17 Pro Max with 256GB in Silver.

My 15 Pro Max is 512GB but it's overkill for me. I only have only used 70GB so far lol so 256GB will be more than enough for me. I'm not too upset by a lack of space grey/black. I'm tired of having dark Apple products. I was gonna go with a white/silver anyway!

Don't really need to upgrade but my AC+ runs out soon and I want something new and shiny. I'm gonna pay it over time. Works out £39/month which includes AC+ Theft/Loss and it accounts for my 15 Pro Max trade in value (£495).

I would've went with the Air if it wasn't for that horrific camera bump. I've warmed up to the Pro Max camera bump over the years and actually really like the new "Plateau" design with the "two tone" look. I really love it.

Have already ordered my case and screen protector! So excited :D

It's too early to tell, but the Air is either going to be a repeat of the iPhone mini (loved by a few, a nod to the 'good old days', but ultimately a sales flop) or a sleeper hit (better than expected performance, irresistible design and form factor bring back the 'old Apple' wow factor, surprisingly good sales).

I'm personally going to be hungry and foolish, to quote Jobs, and be a Day 1 user of this new form factor. If it's atrocious, I'll return and swap for the Pro immediately. If it slowly reveals itself to be a hindrance, or I grow to miss any feature missing, I'll swap out in December for the Pro.
Yes, it could go either way. I hope it's the latter and shows Apple there is still a huge market for customers who might want something really powerful, but really don't need absolutely everything in there at the expense of design, weight and overall experience. I really think the Air will be immensely popular when folk get to see it in person.

If they are still striving for that goal of a sleek unified 'glass slab', this will be a good test to see if the market wants that.

Anyone else seeing this when the go into the Apple Store app, go into your account and select iPhone Upgrade Program? I have a 16 Pro Max currently on the upgrade program and was expecting to just reserve my upgrade like before. I've not had the opportunity to save a phone.

Yes, same thing happened to me! Although when I check under 'Devices' it shows my 16 Pro Max as being in the Upgrade Programme. Mind you, it still says you have to wait until 13:00 on Friday (12 Sept) to make a reservation online and then go into the store to complete...

Now I am thinking to cancel my AirPods 3 and AWU3 order and change it to pick up in the shop and hopefully align a phone pick up to get back to onto the upgrade program.
Can someone tell me the current monthly price for an Apple 16 Pro/max so I can compare with my pre-approved finance deal? I only pay £35 per month for the 17 Pro Max with the trade in. Last time I used the UP I think it about £50-55 a month?! And nowadays they have enough phones available to pre-order.
I pay £85.45 p/m for my 16 Pro Max, 1TB

Never been a big fan of my Black Titanium 16 Pro Max, so....17 Pro Max in Silver with either the Purple or Blue Techwoven case may be the plan 👌
Don't suppose anyone has got the purple Techwoven yet? Wouldn't mind seeing "real life" picture.

The Beats case looks good - going to see what peoples’ general consensus is between iPhone 17 and 17 Pro Max as I’m sorely tempted to sit this year out.

Kinda torn between the 17 in Sage or 17PM in Cosmic Orange 🙂

mh... my finance is £35, but as I said, I am trading in my old phone. ALso, I am going for 256GB only butstill it would probably £20 more per month, just for the convenience of the upgrade... decisions, decisions...
I obviously can pay more each months or pay the loan off whenever I want.

I think the Air is basically the Fold 0.5

The folding iPhone is likely going to be 2x Air's "glued together". They will be getting people used to the silly camera bumps (the Pro Max looks good compared to the Air's) and holding a slim phone which will be similar to what the folding phone feels unfolded.

The price of the folding iPhone will reflect this too as in it will likely start from only £1,999. Double the price of the Air and £800 more than the Pro Max. It will help justify the price hike in the mind of the consumers.

Which screen protectors do you use now? Used Spigen EZ Fit for my 15PM. It went on without the dreaded bubbles so I’ll be ordering again for my 17PM. Anyone use the Apple Store?
I use the ESR Armorite ones for all my phones and the one for the 17PM is being delivered today

Here's the link for it https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0F6T1HPBG?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

I used the Apple Store applied one for my XS Max and it's the only screen protector I ever broke by just putting my phone face down on my desk! Ever since I've saved the money and bought a pack on Amazon many times I still have some of the pack left when I upgraded my phone.

Do the Armorite protectors normally work ok with cases? I have a Torro leather wallet case ordered and the Belkin ones don't cover the screen borders.

My Air Bumper and MagSafe Battery arrived today. The battery will definitely fit on the phone with the bumper attached. They are clearly designed to go together.

Zero chance of getting stock there.

Exactly. All their stock gets picked up by re sellers in South Asia. Where they sell it for very high prices.

Ive never had an issue buying a phone on day one in Dubai, lots of flipping goes on much like any other country but also the UAE gets allocated a lot of stock. I always find ordering online initially is not such a panic as Ive found in other countries. They also get regular significant stock coming in daily for walk-ins.

Locked in prices for my 16 PM & wife's 15 PM with Mazuma, dropped a little since Tuesday but won't be sending in until transferred to new phones and the prices are locked for fourteen days so didn't feel comfortable doing it earlier than today.

Have gone with boring/neutral colours for quite a long time now, so rather excited to go for a bright orange 17PM. Also very glad that (by this poll at least) it appears to be divisive enough that it’s not the ‘must have’ colour, so hopefully won’t slip within seconds of preorders opening!

Mine dropped from £650 to £625 in the 45 seconds it took to enter the details! Probably shouldn’t have left it until two minutes before the keynote…
