If you pre order with your Credit Card what are the chances of the bank cancelling the 2nd order when your processing it at 1pm?

I mean, why on earth does Apple not allow us to put for example 2 iPhones into the pre order basket for one total payment to be made on the day?

Having to order two separate phones with separate payments will occasionally set the alarm bells ringing with you provider on the 2nd due to a large payment on the first…then your frantically searching for your back up card to enter the payment!

Seems like first world problems dude.

Has anyone discussed the scratch potential on the new camera bump?

On my 15 Pro the bump is clear glass/plastic.

On the 17 Pro it looks like it’s directly the aluminium casing with paint finish. Furthermore the official cases and a lot of 3rd party ones expose that whole area.

I see the potential for a lot of scratches and the paint coming off. I’m wondering if silver is the best colour to avoid this because it’ll be closest to base aluminium.

Here in the UK, just bit the bullet and readied my order for a new iPhone 17 Pro 256gb in deep blue. 0% loan pre approved as well. Very easy process using the Apple Store app on my existing iPhone 11 Pro.

I assume at 1pm tomorrow I just have to launch the Apple Store app again and submit the order and hopefully secure one?

My current iPhone 11 Pro which I’ve had since new from Apple is now six years old, still on its original Apple battery and showing 90% battery health. I’m hoping having waited as long as this, that the jump to the 17 Pro should be quite worthwhile, with some pleasant and noticeable improvements.

Now to consider what an earth iPhone case to get! Having always had wallet cases, which add considerably to the weight - The 17 Pro is quite heavy compared to my 11 Pro. Just not sure I’d feel comfortable with a tech woven case and a screen protector.

Going to be ordering the ASBO orange. Ordering from curry’s as get 6% off gift cards through work.

Does anyone know what time they usually update their site to show actual product pages? Currently all they have are the sign up to hear more pages.

I don’t quite understnad the iup. I’m updating from the 15 pro max to the air - with trade in its £21pm 0%. I’ll get applecare on top but that can be monthly and I can cancel it separately. it seems pretty much the same overall cost just buying outright (with 0%) and then trading against a new phone if you want to? basically rolling your own iup?
Yeah I'm moving from the IUP to just doing the monthly financing. IUP is a little bit more restrictive - have to have AC+, financing over 20 months instead of 24, and if you choose to upgrade you have to hand over your old phone there and then.

I've instead refunded my remaining AC+, and will trade in my current phone (or sell privately) which more than pays off the remaining balance on my IUP loan.

Because they're both 0% loans, the total cost is the same. I did IUP for a number of years but just doesn't seem like it offers any advantage any more (other than technically guaranteeing a minimum effective trade-in value for your phone as you can hand it back after 11 months and start a new plan without penalty - but this is usually much less that market value).

The difference with iUP to Monthly Payments is that when it comes to upgrading after 11 months, with iUP the remaining loan balance is automatically covered and you get to start a new contract with the next phone, whereas with normal 0% monthly you would have to pay the loan balance which would be more because your trade in value will have significantly reduced compared to the price of the phone.

iUP is better if you see yourself upgrading yearly, 24 month payments are better if you see yourself fulfilling the full loan term.

Not necessarily - e.g. I've just checked the trade-in value of my 256GB iPhone 16 Pro Max. Theoretically my loan balance would be £550 (12 monthly payments of £45.79/month) on a total loan of £1,099. Apple are currently offering £600 to trade it in, so I'd pay off the loan and also get £50 towards the purchase of the new one.

Your statement probably holds true for higher storage tiers, as I think they depreciate much more rapidly.

IUP is definitely convenient, but you do pay a price for that convenience, even if you do upgrade every year.

I’m surprised there’s so few interested in the pro or Pro Max in silver? To me it looks timeless and classy. I just think I would get sick of the blue for example

My loan balance was £725.
Sold 17 Pro 256Gb for £700.
£120 AC+ refund.

Both options work.

I'm getting the PM in silver for 2 reasons; timeless classic Apple, and when it goes in a case the silver plateau will go with any colour.

Saw Zollo's first look at these on YT and convinced myself I'll go this route instead of silicone. I don't like fingerprints on the darker silicone cases like the blue and purple so this techwoven will eradicate this issue. Problem is I like the sienna, blue AND purple!

Pre Pre Order done. BPF done. iPhone 17 Pro Max 256 in Cosmic Orange. Coming from a iPhone 15 Pro Max 256 in Blue Titanium. Got offered £480 for trade in. Can I change the colour? Still deciding between blue and orange! Decisions, decisions.

Yes you can when u pre order as long as price doesn’t change otherwise you will have to do BPF approval again.

Think i've settled on the Deep Blue 17 Pro.

Watched a bunch of videos and it 2-tone is still the least offensive to me.

Tried to order dbrand skin but it kept rejecting my checkout. Will just wait for Xtremeskins

Will use WSKEN screen protector until a definite winner for this year is crowned

My phone case from Nomad is arriving on the 15th, although I am also tempted to get dbrand's ghost case... to show off that blue colour.

This is the case from Nomad I bought, if anyone else is interested

I tend to go with the white/silver as the bump is neutral and goes with every case. Think I’ll get the terracotta silicone case.

I’m on 256 with 100GB free but I’ve noticed how much clearer downloaded music is compared to music streamed over cellular, especially in my car, so may go 512 and download all the music I want.
Yeah, Sounds good with the case you mentioned. I’m going down to 512gb because until recently I used up most of the space ( iCloud Photos weren’t optimized ) and were locally stored and had only 30GB left. So optimized the photos and now have only used 153gb. This 256gb will suffice moving forward
