Too late for this years pre orders now, but for a couple of years i used my work's 6% off Currys gift cards. Then used those gift cards to buy Apple gift cards from them, added them to my apple balance and then purchased the phone direct from Apple. Saved the 6% but benefited from Apple's customer service, guarnteed launch day stock etc.
Havent bothered this year though as it adds considerable extra faff over just going for 4% off Apple gift cards direct. Also the process wasnt always smooth, one stroe would only sell me £200 of apple cards as apparently theyd had issues with fraudulent purhases of Apple cards, tried to convince them otherwise but they werent having any of it so drove 20 mins down the road to the next one and thankfully they had no issue at all. Also I would buy them in £500 batches, so took 3 trips to get enough for the 1tb, for the sake of an extra £30 saving over the 4% (plus ive since moved and my nearest Currys is miles away) it hasnt seemed worth it this year, but maybe an option for someone next year that wants to maximise their savings or just something to do regularly to save on Apple One etc (i still do that as a way to get 6% off the subscription as it takes from your Apple balance before your bank)
Voucher fraud has gone nuts. I wanted to buy some cards for my son's preschool staff. They would let me buy one card at up to 250 quid, but not five at 10 quid each. Fraud prevention they said (cant quite work out why the number of cards made a difference)

With the Barclays finance, say after 12 months out of the 24 I want to upgrade, what happens to the Applecare+? Obviously I pay in full with Barclays do I then bring the remainder of the Applecare with me to my new device? Or can i cancel the Applecare+ and have it deducted from the total left to pay?

Anyone know how it works?

For anyone considering an additional battery and isnt set on Mag Safe, i can't fault this one from Nitecore
So small i carry one in an arm pocket on my coat all the time, you'll need a short USB-C cable to go with it, but i find it so much easier to have with me than most packs that are much bulkier. This one is a 5,000mAh, but they do a 10k version too (currently out of stock though). So much better energy density than most and much cheaper and a higher capacity than Apple's Air Magsafe one.

Going for the 256gb deep blue pro. I was considering getting the max, but felt the size and weight would be too much. Also it’s slighting bigger than my 15 pro and vastly improved battery life.

Considered the orange, but felt in the end it was a bit too garish. My biggest concern is how the camera bump is painted it will get scuffed up real quick even with a case!

Can someone tell me what colour to get for the iPhone Air? I seem to be widening my scope of the colour options rather than narrowing them down which is... not good. 😆

I went for the sky blue as I like the cool white look.

I’ve never bought a phone through finance before so this is my first time. Would be interested to know too.

The way I understand that it work for general trade in is that whatever the value of your phone is goes towards paying off the remaining balance. Any new phone requires a brand new loan.

So if you have £600 left to pay and your 17 Pro Max is worth £500 you need to pay £100 towards closing your loan.

It seems AppleCare+ is bundled into the loan price so you still need to pay it off. So essentially you are still paying it full no matter what. As the insurance is tied to the hardware then I suppose you just lose it. I just sold my MacBook Air which still has 6 months left on it but that goes with the MacBook even though I’ve paid it in full.

Hi, I think you're describing the upgrade programme? I am going for the 24months interest free loan option were applecare+ isn't required although I am adding it.

Applecare can be cancelled, and if not used you will get a refund of the remaining,

I imagine most of us can, but it makes more sense keeping the money in my account making interest then paying it out at once.
A few years a go I opted for pickup at regent street. Some media company (BBC 8 think) were doing random queue interviews asking how we were affording it. At the time I was all boring and "SIM only" "budgeted all year" etc. they couldn't have looked less interested.
I really want to go back with a temporary tattoo scar on my side and if asked again pull up my shirt and say I sold a kidney to give them the story I suspect they were looking for...

I've found Argos really good lately. Quick to get stock in for pickup later in the day or next morning etc.
Suspect Currys still haven't learnt. Really wonder how they keep going

Last 4 years I got it from Argos. No issue at all, delivery on the first day.

Went for Cloud White - no fingerprints on the back and its bright and shiny 😀

I think that's gonna be me too tbh.

I'm really worried about the polished titanium rails scratching visibly on the coating of the black Air. I think that's the decision made for me!

Not pre-ordering.
I want to see them in store before deciding. I'm happy to wait for stock next month or so.
Wasnt even going to upgrade this year but my wife needs an upgrade and she's not into tech like me, so she'll get my 15pm and I can get a new one - most likely 512GB Blue PM
