I’ve decided to skip the Air and go with the 17 Pro Max 512GB in silver.

Honestly, the Air’s battery just wouldn’t hold up for a full day, and slapping on a MagSafe defeats the whole point of having a sleek, ultra-thin device.

Judging by the pre-orders, it looks like a lot of people feel the same way.
I would imagine that eSIM only is also a factor. It's still an issue for some of us.

I’m on EE for my airtime but have the phone from Apple. Transferring eSIM between phones when doing the Apple upgrade is a ball ache. That’s why I still have a physical SIM.
I currently have a physical sim with EE, I went for the Air model. Is it not such an easy process to get an E-sim then?

I *think* with EE it's possible to convert a physical SIM into an eSIM and then transfer said eSIM to another iOS device.**

Someone like Tesco Mobile (for example) you need to get in touch with them as the QR code provided in the pack only works on one device and doesn't support transferring to another device.

** You can also order and download an eSIM via their MyEE app too.

It seems like there’s no difficulty Pre-ordering a pro. Can easily find one on both Argos & Amazon with no issue. In all colours and sizes.

My experience with EE is that it's a straight forward transfer. However, I also have an overseas network as my second line & in the event of a lost, stolen, dead phone etc. it requires a visit to the nearest service centre - 6,000 miles away. It's the only reason I'm upgrading this year, as I fear that starting with the Air, as already elsewhere, Apple is going to be impose eSIM on us sooner, rather than later.

In your case I believe you should simply be able to go into Settings>Mobile Service>Line No>Convert to eSIM.

Cancelled my pre-order on Apple and re-ordered on Amazon and got a message saying delivery date not available. Which kind suits me as gives me a chance to change it.

From the data supplied by Apple the Air has the same battery figures as my current 16 Plus that easily lasts a day.

Apple via Barclays is really hit or miss. I’ve tried getting it a few times over the years, and it always rejects me, even though I have very good credit and can get much higher credit elsewhere. So don’t count on it.
Yeah same for me I had other options to get it anyway Very never fails me lol I just thought I’d try it out but got rejected even though I’ve got a good credit rating to but I heard there a hard nut to crack you prob need a income of £3k a month or something with them 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

I’m pretty sure sales will pick up once people see it in person.
Those who care more about luxury and design will want it.

I cancelled my Air pre-order and kept the Pro Max pre-order, but that could change on the 19th when I go to the Apple Store to pick up my AirPods Pro 3.

If the Amazon orders are saying delivery date not available does that mean it’s likely to be early October? As that would suit me well if it was.

Shouldn’t be if you have both phones available at the same time. You can convert your existing physical on your current phone to eSIM and then transfer eSIM to new phone.

The ballache happens when you don’t have access to the old phone (trade in or Apple upgrade) as EE send a text to the phone with the eSIM first as a security measure, and if you no longer have that phone then you obviously don’t ever get that text.

Ok let me try again.

If you buy Applecare+ (T+L) upfront for 2 years you get a discount. It costs £239 for 2 years when paid upfront. 9.99 x 24months = £239.

Thanks, although Im not looking at the up front cost of Apple care - just for the phone.

So, if you finance the phone for 2 years, Applecare is £9.99 a month for those two years.
If you buy the phone up front, you get the choice for up front Applecare, but if you opt for monthly Applecare its £11.99 a month across those 2 years......shouldnt this be £9.99 also?

See attached.....

Just wondering why the cost of monthly Applecare should change irrespective of whether you purchas ethe phone upfront or on finance?

EE really need to improve that process. The way they send you a text to authenticate a esim can be a pain when you don't have the original phone or if the phone has been repaired. It seems at least some other networks allow it to be done within their app or via email.

Yes for me it’s the worst downside to the Air. I had eSIMs when they first came out and much prefer a physical Sim to deal with.
I actually prefer an eSIM as with my Primary EE eSIM, but there's a lack of consistency in how network operators implement them (if at all) & some of them make it extremely problematic.

Correct.

Only on Finance you can pay/split £239 as monthly payments.
