Wasn't going to upgrade this year however, I fear this may be the last physical SIM slot year & one of my network operators still requires a visit to their service centre should your phone die, be lost, stolen etc. In my case this would result in an expensive short notice flight.
This will be my first light coloured iPhone - always had black or space grey. Not happy about the colour options & silver was the lesser evil.
Quickest launch day order yet, though last year was only a couple of minutes longer. Availability does seem to have disappeared much sooner this year though.

Yep I left O2 ages ago and the best thing I did. SIMO via EE and phone via Apple Upgrade.
Apple via Barclays is really hit or miss. I’ve tried getting it a few times over the years, and it always rejects me, even though I have very good credit and can get much higher credit elsewhere. So don’t count on it.
You do realise that doing this ruins it for others trying to get a launch day phone.
I got a preauth for the amount when I reserved on Thursday that I had to approve in banking app. But for some odd reason my available balance didn't check.
Nothing since then but I'm a pickup order.
I had trouble ordering with very the option to purchase kept disappearing then was saying out of stock had to go on the desktop site to order then updated the app and it was ok 😵💫
Make sure your app is upto date if anyone uses them 🤦🏻♀️🤣
I didn't set up a preorder & I was in 13:01 (App) my pick up order was placed at 13:04. It would have been a minute or two earlier had I not mistakenly checked the gift box.
This year was the most chaotic and worst pre-order experience ever for me. The app kept insisting I re-enter my address and country code at checkout, so I missed next-week delivery even though I saved it last night. Then my repeat order didn’t show up in the app or any email, so I tried again. Now I have 4 separate orders with different references and no confirmation if any of them actually went through. Very frustrating process.
Nope, because I cancelled the one that was been delivered to my house so someone else will get that phone instead.
I am paying the full amount, money process shouldn’t be this fast, but I am not complaining.
Managed to order just fine at 1pm online. Took a couple of minutes.

The EE forum is my guilty pleasure this time of year, especially on Thursday when people find out they won't be getting it delivered on Friday despite multiple phone calls and the reassurance of multiple agents. lol
Given the poor/limited colour choices perhaps Apple expected them to more popular so there was greater availability?
