You are aware we're also getting reviews from the likes of the notoriously hard-to-please Nilay Patel/The Verge, and other sources, not just YouTubers?
It's the only info we'll get before Friday when the peasants in the public can get them and I for one am excited to read and watch them all, however sycophantic, while we patiently wait for users to get them and pass their own judgments.

I'm a bit late to the (Apple) party - first Apple device was the X. Missed the pre-orders, will be in London on Friday. Any point in going to the store or are people still queueing at ridiculous hours/no stock without pre-order on those first days?

Depends a bit on what you're looking for. The Air still had pickup slots available for friday at several stores (colour/memory dependent).
Pro's/Pro Max's are unlikely - in the past they used to have a few walk ins set aside, but I gather last year they didn't (at least at most stores). But after friday/saturday, you have much better chance.
TLDR - Air? yes, arrange a pickup slot now. Pro / Pro Max? Maybe try the Regent Street store (as its the flagship) but no promises. You'd want to get there early, as others will have the same idea.

But I would feel exactly the same about the reviews regardless of what I ordered, or even if I didn't order at all.
Anyway, enjoy not caring about any of the reviews in 25 minutes, and I hope you are captivated by all those user reviews you're so excited for from Friday onwards! 😆

I'll see how the weather is on Friday...
Several stores including Regent street have the AWU3 for pickup available on friday (may depend on band, but I selected natural titanium).
If they have an early slot (unlikely but you never know) then maybe book that, and while you're in there anyway, ask the nice person about walk in stock for 17P (they may have knowledge of eg. if they're getting some in later or saturday etc).

I didn’t say that I definitely was. I said I was considering it. And I am. I’ve looked at the Flip 7 and the Fold 7. But I’m locked into at least taking delivery of the Air, and I’m interested to know what the reviewers make of it.
While we’re waiting …
The Flip is superficially attractive, but I have question marks about the weight. As a big user of an iPad mini, the Fold might be a neat solution, but it’s very heavy as a phone. And delicate. And expensive.
I have downgraded my loathing of iOS 26 to mere dislike. You can almost get rid of it with the right settings. But there are still many elements that are clunky and it is very buggy.
