As expected, all Air reviews are criticizing the battery life. In the end, if you need MagSafe, you might as well have just ordered the Pro.

Interesting the Verge are saying on the 17 pro they haven’t been impressed with the battery life and it seems to be draining more than they’d expect 😅

Not sure about the pro max though!

No praise for the Air in this review. Find the Iphone A19 chip outperforming the A19pro chip in the air a bit of a let down.

I'm now leaning towards the standard Iphone and using the spare £200 to get the airpods pro 3.

The Air isn’t fairing too well. The A19 pro Chip in the Air doesn't perform as well as the A19 chip in the IPhone 17

Well, that wasn't a happy air review I watched.
Air market feels like people who want a small phone for social purposes - eg. clubbing / back pocket / handbag and can still take some okay photos / answer social media?

TLDR that I picked up...
- Air with pro chip slower than base 17 with non-pro chip due to throttling.
- New telephoto lens in 17 pro's isn't magnificent.
- Non-Air performance about 20% up on equivalent 16 model.
- Base 17 seems to be the best buy this year?

Yes - he tested gaming use - rather than running a 2 minute peak test such as geekbench, he ran the 20 minute stress test (passmark was it?) which shows sustained performance.

I just had memories of my 13 mini that looked like it'd been dragged through gravel after 6 months. And I baby mine, even using cases.

I get they may have used better bonding blah blah etc, but still I was concerned.

I think it's clear that if you are going to push your iPhone to its limits for sustained periods of time you would get the Pro. that's always been a given really.

From watching a few reviews so far, it really seems like the entire range this year - 17, 17 Pro and Air - make up one of Apple's best lineups overall in years. So excited for Friday now.

Love The Tech Chap's review of the iPhone Air. He seems a really nice guy, feels like a real person. Love his take on it and his thermal machine thing! He showed some of the general public holding it and being wowed.
