Yea I’m thinking of cancelling the pro max and going for an air. Battery seems great, cameras fine and performance more than I need after running a 15 pro max for past couple of years. Orange is horrible and still not a fan of the blue I’ve ordered. Maybe a year to put design first and have a good looking Apple device

Genuinely shocked the battery is on par with the standard 17
Agreed. I'm happy I chose it and reserve the right to change my mind and go back to Pro (immediately or after 90 days when my carrier lets me swap) if what I possibly miss from the Pros starts to outweigh the joy of the light/thin/clean form factor.

I think it's cringeworthy, to be honest. 😆

Having devoured video and written reviews the last 2 hours it's clear the phone has no issues with all but intense load which the vast majority won't even get close to. And doesn't seem worse than any previous model.

Super geeky, benchmark-obsessed Pro users forcing it to heat and throttle to... do performative stunts like that photo... is a bit embarrassing IMO. 😬 It's like the modern day torture tests or "Will the new iPhone break if I drop it out of a 9th floor window" crap.

It's clear the Air is a really great phone, albeit with some compromises. I dunno why that's causing so many Pro users to crash out so bad - maybe because they want the sexiest phone AND the most powerful one, but that's just not possible this year?

The Pro models are incredible, the most powerful/capable and last time I checked, still available. The dumping all over the Air for trying to be something else, is a bit weird. Just my opinion.

Yeah he really brushed over the Air like it was a piece of trash not having that balanced view of the form factor like other reviewers.

I think I said before - it has a good place in the market I think, not hardcore gaming probably. I wonder if it would have performed better there with the non pro chip, but perhaps apple wanted it to have "burst" performance.

I'm still so excited to get my Air on Friday. I'm so sick of heavy phones especially in the pocket of a pair of joggers or shorts where you can feel the weight bouncing around as you walk or god forbid run. I've already said that I got the Air because I like it, Looks amazing and that's it really. I'm just glad it's not the aluminium of the Pro's it looks a soft as butter and prone to scratches dents, and I just don't like how this years PRO's look.

Tomorrow the courier lottery begins and tracking madness sets in with hourly refreshes to see absolutely nothing new 🤣

I think the main reason of using the A19pro chip was to help the battery life.

No-one worried unduly about this on previous iPhone models with aluminium bodies (i.e. everything prior to the 15). Well, not any more than any other object made of aluminium, they are of course not indestructible.

Must say I am surprised not to have seen any movement on the 24th-29th batch yet! Normally a lot of the second tranche are bumped up to launch day.

Very happy I ordered Air based on the reviews, the compromises are known by us lot (being on this forum 😂) but reviewers need to call them out. The ‘red flags’ by and large seem non existent, so it’s a clear choice around which model you favour. Looking forward to my air being delivered!

Air or out for me this year. I think it will be great but will happily stick with my 16pro if I don’t like it (I think I will).

11am tomorrow onwards you think status will start changing to shipped? Or earlier?
I tried looking through the 16 UK pre order thread to pull some times out, but it’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack sorting through all the other commentary. Not that that’s a bad thing.

I remember back around iPhone 3G times people would create an open(ish) spreadsheet with order, preparing and shipping dates, they were really useful.

Expect it within the next week. No point them sending them out too early when people don't even have their new phones to hand.
Thanks, and then I have 14 days from the date they send it out to return the old one do I? I'm just not going to be around next week to drop it off anywhere within working hours!

Only thing I’m slightly nervous about is the single camera but like you, I’m really excited for Friday.

Probably most excited since iPhone X launch year for me.

''our trade-in device needs to be sent to us within 14 days of receiving your new device.''

So 14 days from the 19th.

Its great to see so many people excited - enjoy your new devices. As someone who has largely left the Apple Eco-System the Air is nearly pulling me back but maybe not quite enough. I have a S25 Edge so I understand the form factor and the compromises, but the Air takes it one step even further. Hard sell, but some will love it.

Bought 17 Pro Max on the 12th using gift card for full amount and yesterday it got cancelled. No email. Just checked the app and cancelled with no reason. Tried customer service and fobbed me off with some terrible excuses about my card not having enough money on it - which isn’t true as it was the exact amount. Back of the Q I now go….
