It will be delivered by courier either UPS or DHL. Someone will need to sign for it.
Apple stuff is usually UPS.
How long until someone starts a iPad delivery tracking form?

It depends. I've had some things delivered from them by UPS and other things by DHL.
It's possible. Your card will get pre-authorised but not charged until dispatch.

Alright, I had the ops message, now my order status is processing items

Check you order status. I got the error twice too but when I checked my order history I saw that my order had gone through. So do have a look.
I'm still awaiting the confirmation email though.
