Why would they split a shipment at this late stage? Perhaps its because my delivery is in the South West of UK and yours is more northerly if its at Donnington.

Same here. I was hoping for quicker delivery and shipping the hype is lost now and I've lost interest. Also an email from apple saying it may come later isn't promising.
Know exactly how you feel mate.. Mine's on the same boat (plane) as yours..
Call Apple up and tell them how you feel.. they'll make you feel slightly better. (They did for me anyway!)

I'm in the same boat as both of you. Same spec, same shipping dates, same discount. I wonder if they really are holding us back!
I can confirm no anti-Edu bias: ordered base+16GB at midday on the day following the keynote for delivery to London. It's been shipped the other day and is now en route via Frankfurt for delivery by July 3.
yes but combining the university card and the laptop could mean that it will take longer.

You're not following. I'm an edu customer, which means I get the gift card, and my rMBP is going to ship shortly. The others are asking whether edu results in a delay to shipment, for which the answer is no, and the gift card is irrelevant.
It may take a day longer during shipping to merge with the card however.

Reckon it's a base thing though. Strange that, I really thought the base models would get pumped out faster, not the BTO.
im guessing the base models are going to the stores and retailers as well so maybe thats y the shipment is delayed on those.
Well my base MBPR from PC world was finally delivered this morning (it was supposed to arrive Sat 23rd AM after paying the extra) - and I returned it for a refund at lunchtime.

I called apple re the delay - the lady said everything was fine and some just take longer than others - she was very apologetic, and has been sending me emails each day, she (and her colleagues) dont know how or what order they ship them in - maybe it is due to the £70 card.....
I've just spoken to Apple online and they estimated shipping form JULY 26th to AUGUST 1st! That's more like 4-5 weeks not 3-4 weeks 🙁

When did you place the order? It looks like it is a week ahead of the estimated date. (based on your signature stating 6th july?)

I ordered mine on the 13th at 3pm BST with a 3-4 week 12-18th July Estimate. They are definatley ahead of schedule which is good for us all!
That's very reassuring... I was estimated (though not yet ordered) from 26th July to 1st August which is 5 weeks... Hopefully if I order next feel I will have in by August.
I've just gone down and came back with my shiny new rMBP (much quicker than waiting another estimated 3 and a bit weeks). They only have the base 2.3 model though. The guy I talked to said they hadn't received any of the middle model yet, didn't comment on the top one.
So if you're after the 2.3 model, then it's probably worth calling them up tomorrow, you might get lucky.
I ordered on the 22nd of June and i have estimates for 20 - 26th of July so that seems about right.
If ordered today and longest delivery is august 1st, thats like 5 weeks... However a few posts above someone received shipment notification today who ordered July 13th so thats almost 2 week ahead 🙂
