Can anyone tell me, in their experience, how long did it take from their BTO rMBP to go from 'Preparing for shipment' to actually being delivered?

I ordered my 2.7/16/512 rMBP on 16th June. Just gone to 'Preparing for shipment'.

Thanks.

Looks like UPS are taking my laptop on a world tour... Landed in Poland around 30mins ago...

Now just leaving Poland (9:13pm Local Time)!

Mine changed on to Preparing (and also shipped) on Monday, and it's supposedly getting delivered Tomorrow [what Apple says] (so, 3 days) or on Friday [what UPS says] (4 days).

Damien's signed for my MacBook!

C'mon Damien, make your staff work late and get it shipped out this evening!

I'm going to take a guess at next Monday or Tuesday for your delivery mate.

According to the Apple bridgepoint page, estimated delivery is 13th, which seems a while to say it's being air freighted over here.

What's the best way to track the orders once you have a tracking number?

Damien has also signed for mine, same time!

Apples website briefly changed to 'Preparing to handover to final carrier' only to change back to 'In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule' a little later. Hoping for tomorrow, most likely will be Friday though!

First post from my new rMBP. For anyone who's wondering, Migration Assistant is awesome; took a couple of hours, but my new rMBP is a perfect clone of my old MBP. Just got a problem with Google Drive - MA copied the GD folder, but GD says it isn't the original so won't connect to it, so I've got to sort that out. Not found anything else though - yet :p

Anyway, here's a few photos...

The total thickness of the rMBP is 3-4mm less than the body of my old late 2007 MBP (pre-unibody)

Migration Assistant in action - again, note the thinness

Geekbench scores - just a small performance improvement then :p

We've now arrived in Germany! (or, at least our MacBooks have). Ever so close now - could actually see it arriving tomorrow form some reason! Here's hoping!:)

Arrive at your house tomorrow? Not a chance if it is in Germany now. Has to get a truck to heathrow, then pass customs, then possible go to merging centre and then final delivery. I would say you are looking at early next week.

Don't think so! It came direct via UPS and says on Apple's order tracking page that estimate delivery is tomorrow! :)

Gutted!! My wife missed the DHL delivery by literally 2mins. She been waiting since morning, then popped out the house at 2.55pm, and DHL arrived 2.57pm.....

But I didn't give up there!!!

Got home at 7.30pm, and found out that the DHL depot closes at 8pm
Luckily Tamworth is only a 20min drive from my location in Bham, so jumped in my car and took a trip on the M6, Tom Tom & all, pouring down with rain in terrible conditions!

Managed to reach the depot at 7.55pm, literally as the lady was shutting up shop. She seemed eager to close early, as she said it had been an exhausting day for them delivering all the "apple" packages.

Showed some ID and picked up the package. What a day it's been, if i would have got there 5 mins later, it would have been shut :(. I couldn't bear to wait any longer for this damn machine!

Tried to do the migration assistant from my other mac, but realised that there's no Ethernet so it attempted to do it over wifi, eta 24hrs!!

good luck to everyone else receiving their machine, hopefully u won't have to go that extra mile like myself!

Just got up for work and I have a UPS tracking number! Departed Tamworth at 3 O Clock this morning, seeing as I only live about 40 minutes away, I'm praying for this thing to be here when I get back!

Me too! And it arrived at Edinburgh at 6am this morning! So unless UPS plan on keeping it for a day, we should be getting ours in a few hours!

Me too mate. Saw last night that scheduled delivery changed to the 5th. So happy. Mine is on van now.
