If you're like me you would be looking out the window at anything which sounds van like and getting more and more anxious as the day slowly ticks past convincing yourself it won't be arriving as it's gone past 5pm and then just before you give up you get a knock at the door and it's a very tired looking delivery guy with your new rMBP!

Haha, normally you would be right, but I am at work today, so it will be delivered to my mum's place of work (I don't trust the people who take deliveries at my work). So I won't get it til 6ish at the earliest anyway. Gonna be a long day.

I never should of cancelled my order on the 14th.... grrr at myself for waiting lol

Roughly how long for each order stage change?

Apologies if this has no doubt been asked before, but this thread is getting so crazy long I thought I would just put it out there.

Assuming most people are now on the 3-4 weeks delivery timeframe, how long are people finding it takes to go through each stage of the order status steps?

i am guessing it is something like this:


  1. We've received your order - (1day), converts to next stage same day (did for me)
  2. Processing your order - (18 days) Im still in this, due 24th-30th - I am guessing it will be here for about 18 days?
  3. Preparing for shipment - (2 days)?
  4. Shipped / Shipping - (7 days) at the end of the 2 days I guess it changes to shipped, but then it takes about week to come through the door?


Does this sound about right?

It's hard to tell but the ball park figure is 3 weeks you will hopefully get it from the date of the original order.

Cool - well then from what I can see from the other posts, it is taking about a week to post, hence I should start seeing some change in status from about next week (2 weeks after I ordered on the 25/6).

I think that is pretty much spot on and I ordered mine on the 2nd of July so should see movement around the 16th.

Mine shows as "departure scan 7:15am" at my local depot. Doesn't say it's out for delivery though? So where has it gone...?

Yeah mine too. I assume it must mean it's out for delivery, unless they're just giving it a tour of the city!

This is going to be another long day of constantly pressing F5!

I ordered mine on 18th June (3-4 weeks estimate 18th-23rd July)
Changed to 'Preparing for shipping' on 3rd July
Changed to 'Shipped' < 24hrs later (4th July)
Now due to be delivered before 13th July (i.e. 10 days earlier than earliest estimate)

Thanks - good luck.

Looks like my estimates were close, with perhaps delivery taking longer than a week.
 
Is there any way of tracking the shipment by the tracking number which begins with an 8...?

I can't seem to find any tracking info at the moment.

Damien is probably the guy who signed to say it got delivered to the depot before it got put on the delivery van and you have nothing to worry about.

He's the guy who works at the merging centre accepting the delivery. If you check the Apple tracking page, you'll see it's probably changed to UPS with a new tracking number (I didn't notice it the first time I looked at the page). Everyone else who's arrived last night seems to be out near their part of the country with UPS so I don't see why you'd be any different. Unless you maybe have a few accessories?

Just checked and yes it does say UPS now - thanks! It only comes with the student card
