Does anyone have any experience in returning a MBP within 14 days of purchase? Do Apple charge any restocking fees and is it necessary that the computer is unopened?

No, if you are unhappy with your purchase then you can return it to Apple using the returns section in your account. They don't charge a restocking fee, but they must receive it within the 14 days - I believe that they also get a courier (usually TNT) to collect it so that you don't even have to pay return postage!

Forgot to say this morning that my replacement RMBP is out for delivery 10 days after enquiring about a replacement! - Better than the 3-4 weeks originally quoted and my original delivery estimate was tomorrow so ill still receive it in that time!
It changed to shipping today, about 18 hours after changing to preparing for shipping. Estimated delivery date is 24th July. Are people finding the delivery estimate once it changes to shipping to be accurate?
ahhh ok, I ordered mine with a TB to ethernet adapter but I want to keep it, Can I do so or will I have to send it back with the MBP.
Pretty sure you can turn certain items. Right now I have the option, on the apple site to return part of my order. Also, assuming you are ordering from the UK to the UK, then legally you can return within the first 14days.
I think mine is on the same plane - it landed at Heathrow 2am this morning!

Expo seems to be slow updating I've noticed.
I don't know if I was lucky or not but yesterday my MBP was delivered to Apple and I got it today from UPS but I didn't get the iTunes card... That seems to have been left behind somewhere!
But literally I didn't get a UPS number until 1am and it never even showed as being out for delivery on the tracking... If I had been able to sleep all night I would have had no idea it was about to turn up.

Yeah you got lucky haha. Mine has changed from 'preparing handover' to 'in transit to customer', which means it is being delivered to UPS (same situation as you I believe last night, unless I'm mixing you up for another poster?). Still not got my UPS tracking ID but I'm confident it will be here tomorrow. Still got plenty of time.
Have you tried checking the shipping documentation in your shipping box?
I have to wait for a delivery today anyway, would have been nice to have got my Macbook today and do it all in one go, but it looks like another 9am-9pm waiting time again tomorrow.

Mine is the same. It says ready for delivery at the top so I can't imagine it'll be too long before its being handed over to syncreon.
In everyone else's experience, is there absolutely no way of tracking my MacBook shipment status if it has to merge with an education gift card until the two items have been merged? My computer shipped on the 13th, but I have no way of tracking its progress using Apple's standard shipment info page. Is there a workaround or will the order status continue to be shrouded in mystery until both the computer and the gift card are joined together in blissful harmony somewhere in the UK?

Take the 8 digit number on your apple shipping status and put it into http://expo.expeditors.com/ and you can see where it is up until Apple gets it and then issues a UPS number.
Yeah i have done so, my last result says apple have it i think.
