I have tried pages like Facebook and the Macrumours Front Page and I can't really notice any lag, baring in mind I have come from a 2009 iMac which seemed acceptable to me even with just a Core 2 Duo. Even with the additional processing needed for the gorgeous display

I wouldn't say there's any noticeable lag, unless of course you're scrolling through at lighting speed, which means you wouldn't be able to see the content anyway! :p

Well it's more to do with slow scrolling as I'm reading which does come out choppy..

Apple must know about this. They have to be using these things in their offices.

Funny part is that zooming is smooth

I have noticed this now on pages where there is much media based content. For me, it's bearable for now. Many rumours appear to suggest that Mountain Lion is meant to improve performance on the rMBP, but I'm unsure until it is released.

I've changed the resolution slightly and it appears slightly more at certain resolutions when compared to others.

What was your expected delivery date PVisitors and roughly where in the UK are you based? :)

I fear it coming during the early morning when no one will be ready to answer the door - what happens if you miss delivery?

I'm from Stockport. Came from the Congleton depot which is odd considering I think Congleton is like 20 miles away when it could have gone to the Manchester depot.

I got my UPS tracking code about 9pm last night and my expected delivery date was today. Was loaded on the van at 4am and arrived at 10:30am. I think it's unpredictable with UPS as last year when they delivered my iMac they arrived at like 3-4pm. I was quite shocked it came so early considering how far the depot is I would have thought my area would have been one of the last drop offs. I guess that means they don't really have a standard delivery route as such.

Obviously we don't get an actual delivery window but the tracker states it can come from anywhere between 9am-7pm. You can request to change your delivery date but not give yourself a time slot, assuming you miss delivery they take it back to the depot and you can either collect it or they will attempt to deliver the next working day. If you're worried about an early delivery, it could be worth calling UPS to see if they can flag the package for something like 1pm+ delivery. Worth a try and if you manage to get a friendly person on the phone they may do it :).

^ I only live about 15 miles from you! Nice to see a local on here haha!

Anyone know roughly how long it takes to merge at syncreon? Mine arrived there at 11:30 this morning and I want to figure out the chances of it being delivered tomorrow since I need to arrange for someone to be in to sign for it. I live about 90 miles from the merge place in Leicestershire. Thanks!

My expo tracking has been updated to
18-Jul-2012 11:30:00 GMT Delivered to Consignee GOHILL

and "bridge" tracking says Preparing handover to final carrier

does that mean I will receive a UPS tracking ????

If you have preparing handover to final carrier, very good chance you will get your MBPR tomorrow. So lucky considering mine wasn't shipped out until the next day of being delivered.

Mine changed to Preparing for handover yesterday at 9am, got my UPS number at 9pm although the tracking number said UPS received it at 1pm.

Tomorrow is the D day then :)

Anyone else got a final delivery date of 23rd of July? On expo mines showing as expected arrival into Heathrow from Frankfurt on the 19th at 01:01 gmt

Think there's any chance it could be here sooner? Need my MBPr ! Hahah

my rMBP see my old MBP as an old relative :)

edit : i don't know how to reduce image size on imugr, totally forgot about this resolution. it is rather beastly

Has anyone had theirs shipped from the 26th onwards yet?

Well I suppose that mine has, but it was my (first) replacement. Requested it on the 7th of July and was delivered yesterday - also faulty!

But, you can read the whole thread on that here if you like... from Support to Managers to Compensation to Tim Cook's Office to Technical Experts and back to Tim Cooks Office... its been a long day! :)

You get a 2 year warranty by default. Its EU law.

Although John Lewis do offer that 'Unlimited Returns' policy.

No it's not EU law. It's an EU directive which makes it a huge grey area. The seller is not lawfully bound by the guarantee.

I highly doubt you could convince anybody working in PC World/Currys to honour the 2 year directive. You would have to write a letter threatening legal action to head office.

Its a 2k+ machine, and why would anyone shop at a DSG owned retailer? Might as well piss your money up the wall.

Not that I would bother with a letter anyway. I'd be straight off to trading standards. As long as its a manufacturing fault, you are covered for 2 years. Even if it isnt law as such, companies will back down if you force the issue. And if that doesn't work, just mention a little thing called the sales of goods act.

Well UPS tried delivering my shiny new rMBP at 8:21am this morning.
Shame I'm 350 miles away on holiday :(
Oh well, just have to pick it up on Friday evening when I get home :)

Ordered base on 25TH and still processing. Quoted 3-4 weeks with expected delivery 24-30 July which in my mind is 4-5 weeks. :(

Well it says dispatched 3-4 weeks, so 4-5 weeks for delivery would be correct since it doesn't just magically appear at your front door.

I don't understand why my bridgepoint doesn't say 'preparing handover to final carrier' when mine was in the same shipment as the person a few posts back and they arrived at syncreon the same time? Mine just says in transit to customer? Anyone any idea if I can expect it tomorrow or not?

I think we'll receive ours tomorrow. They've now updated the Bridge point page with ups tracking number and it says estimated date - 19th July.

Fingers crossed..

This is going to sound really daft, but where do you find your UPS number? Mine now says 'Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date' but my estimated date is July 23rd and I can't see a tracking number....
