Hey guys. Another 8401 here. Mine was also released from customs at 16:33 and is now "ready for delivery" which I believe is to Apple UK. So fingers crossed we might get it tomorrow!

not that I'm excited or anything...
Although, I am off work for a chest infection meaning I'm feeling crappy which is weirdly coincidental.

That is a really weird coincidence. Almost like you are perfectly healthy and have a rMBP arriving....
Its quite sad following the flight information etc.
At the same time its quite fun.

I know how it sounds, you have to believe me!
I just did two music festivals back to back and one was in Spain, think it might have been the flight back that I picked something up, feeling a little rough now and the boss isn't too happy.
After a few setbacks trying to order a base model rMBP online I decided to just ring the Covent Garden store and luckily they had a few in stock, both two days ago and yesterday
If you just want the base model with no added RAM just try an apple store I guess!

Mine won't be delivered until 'later this afternoon' according the the UPS woman in the local depot, not sure if I should risk going out for a couple of hours now and getting some small errands done or just sit in and wait.

Ours is on the same flight, I can't track it though.
Mine is due for delivery next Tuesday.
I'm on the same flight too .. I was hoping for a delivery this week to be honest but apparently I'll have to wait until next week .. Do they deliver on Saturdays ??
Refreshing the expo.expeditors page to see if the rMBP's have cleared customs yet... I am sad lol

Was you by any chance an EDU order? I believe the out for delivery is to Apple UK. Not to us. They will then merge the MBP with gift cards or other accessories and ship it out to us.
At the moment it is with goldstar, from Apple UK to us it should be UPS. Where abouts are you in the country?

Mine arrived. Of course they took till 6.20pm to deliver it.
Totally worth it. I am amazed how quickly I have taken to OS X and how intuitive it all feels. I have hated track pads, up to now, but this one actually works and is better than a mouse in many ways (multi gesture control etc.)
Fast, fast, fast. I am not seeing lag.
The screen is astounding and switching over to my windows machine is like going back to a toy. That is the only way I can describe it.
Even better, we get ML today so I can get improved integration with the rest of my apple products...Very happy.
Boot camp went in with W8 RP, though it was not straightforward, though not too crazy. It looks totally amazing at the top resolution, extremely useable, productivity enhancing with all the extra real estate. Parallels is working a treat pointing towards my boot camp partition and all my office apps are working flawlessly as if they are part of OS X. Some marginal pixilation, but it has zero impact on experience with the rest of OS X being so pleasant to use. So far have Crysis, WOW (native) and downloading Batman Arkham City along with Deus Ex at the moment - damn that steam summer sale. Just need to determine optimum resolutions for them. Most I think are going to be running comfortably at least at 2560xetc. (I am happy with fps at 30-40).
The absolute best thing is photos. I have a 36mg camera and didn't realise it was this amazing till now. The only way i would be able to appreciate the photos in the same-ish way would have been to print them all out at an equivalent dpi, which clearly is rarely going to happen.

Can you tell me how did you get the drivers for windows 8, It has booted up just fine using bootcamp but it cant seem to find any wireless card drivers
