tip for getting w8 onto rMBP

My very same issue. They are actually there. Go to your usb install drive you made, and in there go to the windows support folder and run the setup file. Then it takes care of everything. Not sure why that was not automated, but it wasnt for me.

My expeditor at the top now says
Ready for Delivery - #XXXXXXXXX
SHANGHAI, CHINA TO LONDON, ENGLAND
Import Customs Release: 25-Jul-2012 11:50:00 GMT

25-Jul-2012 18:00:00 GMT Estimated Time of Delivery

I assume this is for apple? When do you reckon it'll be physically delivered to me? (Apple site says Friday 27th but seems unlikely given it needs to merge with my EDU gift card...) Also apple says carrier and tracking information should be up at the latest 48 hrs before delivery but there's still nothing.

Mine is also set for delivery for the 17th with a merge and on expeditors mine still says it's not cleared customs so curious now did your's arrive on a plane yesterday MU551 by some chance?

Nice! Yeah I was on that flight. I wonder if it will come to us by the 27th. That would be so badass if it did, but I can't help doubt it.

I am hopeful it will be here by friday as I have arranged to work from home that day and it will be with Apple by 18:00 tonight so off to Syncreon either later that evening or by tomorrow morning so as long as it gets merged by tomorrow evening at the latest we should get our laptops by Friday.

At the moment it is with goldstar, from Apple UK to us it should be UPS. Where abouts are you in the country? :)

Yeah mine's an EDU order.
I'm in London.

Would very much like for it to arrive tomorrow....that would be a day ahead of schedule.

Mine is still saying not released :( and it's currently saying the following:

I think they is two pallets, one has been cleared and I hope the other one has been cleared and it's just taking time to update.

I'm guessing here and I'm sure my girlfriend getting annoyed with me and wishes I had just bought one from the shop. However saying that with the savings from using her educational discount on the laptop and apple care I bought her a nice necklaces, so she's happy.

This is tense.

To everyone waiting for your orders to ship, you have this to look forward to in the next couple of weeks.
 
UPS couldn't be taking longer to deliver my parcel if they wanted! Although, the ice cream van managed till fill some of my time, decided to go with a double cone with flake, strawberry sauce and peanuts :)
 
People on last nights LH 8401 flight from Shanghai should be arriving in Frankfurt in about 15 mins and then London by 8pm tonight.

Hopefully mine can hop over to Ireland before the weekend.

I think that's mine, tried tracking it but there is more than one LH8401.

Mine cleared around the same time but saying delivered by 1500 tomorrow?
Probably merge Friday for delivery Monday (which is what Apple's system is saying).

that flight landed yesterday, cleared customs and was delivered to Apple i'm assuming, this afternoon.. signed for by a Mr Vikesh Gohel :D
 
So guys I finally got my rMBP 2.3/16/256 yesterday (ordered 26/06). I have been of course using it loads already.

Firstly I have to say Apple's tracking is rather poor imo. I know they update the page with UPS tracking number when its available but I feel they could improve the customer notification process perhaps, its clear from this thread that people are basically kept guessing when their macbook will arrive till basically the day of arrival (especially if yours gets merged with another product).

So the rMBP - I am happy to report I have no issues thus far such as those reported like display ghosting, dead pixels, creaking of case, laggy scrolling..perhaps theres others I havent checked for? ;-)

The machine is truly brilliant (it's so quiet yet crazy fast) so glad with my first macbook computer ever!

Just want to say that this forum and thread is great and really good to know your in the same boat as everyone else sometimes (with the waiting for example) and hence I thought id join to share my experience. I'll be sure to update if any nasty surprise rears its head.

Mine arrived at 5pm on the dot! Going to need a lot of getting used to, haven't noticed any problems at all yet, it's so beautiful.

Just playing around and getting to know how things work, yay! :D :D
