Says launch day so finger's crossed you don't get another email changing it :D

My next problem is, the order never went through as my refresh, just a new order. I'm hoping in store on Friday, they will tidy up my order and allow me to keep/use the fone as my refresh ,instead of having to cancel the order an set up a new 1 to update/refresh my current contract.

One of the top brass at the O2 forums has now said that Carphonewarehouse aren't handling any part of the O2 iPhone orders this year. It'll all be O2 no matter if you ordered in store, or online.

Going to make it harder to compare to previous years.

Someone on the O2 forum has said that they have been told by O2 CS that their 64GB iPhone 6 Plus is "preparing for dispatch", despite their order showing as "in progress" on the website.

Tempted to put a call in myself tomorrow, but always think that they'll just tell me anything to get off the phone :D Major trust issues!

TruFact.

TBH it's the BS that annoys me, or the differing information. If all avenues of questioning said the same thing (e.g. that there's a delay of 2-3 weeks) then I'd be unhappy but at least I'd know for certain!

My O2 order just says "in progress" though I did get an email saying it was being dispatched "soon" but no date. :(

Just logged in to check mine and both say "in progress".

Fully expecting the other halfs 6 here on Friday, just not my 6+ :(.

Still at least it doesn't mention any delay.

On the O2 forums at the moment a guy is saying support has told him that no pre-orders are going to be sent out until AFTER the 19th now. Urgh.

Hard to know what's happening..

It depends on who you talk to at O2, everyone gets told different things. I still think they are just covering themselves.

Hope so, I mean 747's with 200k iPhones each to the US were landing on Monday, and I'm sure we've had stock land here in the UK already too. Lots of time to move this stuff around.

I wouldn't recommend O2 to my worst enemy.

I've had the following problems with them:-

1) iPhone earphones cut out one one side within 6 months.

They refused to replace them claiming wear and tear.

2) iPhone power button stopped functioning within 9 months.

They looked at the lightning port with a microscope and sent a photo of the "user damage" by email (it always worked for me) and then tried to charge £190 to "repair" a phone that was legally within warranty citing "user damage" as an excuse for it.

Apple simply gave me a new phone in it's entirely when I complained to them.

3) I asked them if I could change the Direct Debit date from billed on the 14th and taken on the 28th to actually taken on the 14th

They took nearly £70 1 week after the 28th instead and if I don't pay by the 4th every month (NOT the 14th as I agreed and paid for), they cut me off.

4) They introduced a new "Refresh" tariff within months

This was for exactly the same cost and offered exactly the same unlimited minutes/text and 2Gb of data as existing contracts but you could pay off the phone and just pay for service if you wanted to.

Existing contracts only offered a 25% discount if paid off in full (which means they gouge you 50% of the total amount of unused service).

They also won't even let you do that unless you agree to sign another 2 year contract with them!

O2 are unscrupulous, dishonest, money grabbing and immoral. They'll get my custom only till the end of my contact and maybe for a little longer on a pay and go tariff to keep the phone and not have to have it unlocked but I'll never sign another contact with them ever again!

They even charge more to buy an iPhone outright than Apple do.

You'd have to be a deluded fan boy of O2 to resort to victim-blaming as excuse for any of that!

Ive never had a problem in any areas with o2

CS is great, coverage is great.

Hell, they even gave me a brand new iphone 5 -2 summers ago, after i lost mine and they forgot to bill me:D

The rep i was dealing with supported the same football team as me, so maybe thats why ha.

That's the thing about service with big businesses, it often depends who you end up dealing with on the end of the line. They have policies, but it depends a lot more on the discretion of the guy you get.

You can get a human, or you can get some miserable jobsworth tacitly enjoying telling you no and reveling in your frustration :D

Thats exactly it.

When i phone about phones,sky,bills etc..i hang up until i get a voice/person i feel comfy talking too:D

Alright everyone,

After a super bad experience trying to order iP6+ online Friday morning (finally got a order in a around 3pm) my confirmation email said 2/3 weeks delivery but O2 have taken the money out off my account today!

What's the luck of it being delivered on Friday as the money has been taken?

Thanks

Same as you. Tried since 8am, ended up completing via link at 3.30pm ish. Money came out today (for 6 and 6+), but O2 forums give conflicting accounts. Some agents say dispatches start on 19th, so earliest delivery is the 20th, apparently. Some experienced guys say that not the case and also that in previous years they couldn't reconcile the order of orders and the actual order of deliveries.

With the iPhone 5c/s Tuesday was the day when people started getting dispatch info in their O2 account, so keep your eyes peeled over the rest of the day :D

flipshot reckons that O2 are covering their backs, and I think he's right about that. We should see a lot of happy campers on the 19th :)

Just came off the phone to a very helpful O2 chap who was very thorough, checking my details asking around etc.

Apparently I'm in the first wave of pre-orders.

My order will be delivered on Friday if O2 have the phones on Thursday.
Will be delivered Monday if O2 get the phones on Friday.

They are now quoting 2-3 weeks if you preorder now till launch date, and 6-7 weeks if you order on launch date onwards.

iPhone 6 plus 128GB Silver.

We shall see.....

Yeah, just confirming this from the CSA's that it will be 2-3 weeks from launch date. They did say after 6 days after launch date you will be refunded the money on the tarrif pro rata

I don't fully believe them though!

Had a go at the Live Chat agent:

O2 : D***: at 15:29:43
To tell you the truth,we'll start dispatching the I phones 6 from 19th September. It'll be done on a first come first get basis. Delivery depends on what was your number on the queue.

O2 : D***: at 15:29:55
As of now we don't have any confirmed dates for delivery for any customers.

O2 : D***: at 15:30:07
A lot of customers are contacting us for dates and we're giving them the same reply. I don't want to give you any false dates or fake promises as you're a valued customer.

K***: at 15:30:20
No-one will get phone on the 19th though?

O2 : D***: at 15:30:21
We're constant in touch with APPLE to ensure timely delivery to all our customers asap.

K***: at 15:30:50
20th or 22nd would be soonest if 19th is earliest dispatch date?

O2 : D***: at 15:30:49
Some lucky ones will definitely get it on 19th.

K***: at 15:31:03
ah, so some dispatch will be on the 18th?

O2 : D***: at 15:32:17
However not everyone as I phone 6 is such a huge craze. We'll dispatch it on 19th so the people who are very near to the delivery company and they've booked the order they might get it.

O2 : D***: at 15:32:59
However you're correct as most people will get after 20th but still I can't confirm any dates.

O2 : D***: at 15:33:18
The estimated time is 2-3 weeks to tell you the truth.

O2 : D***: at 15:33:37
For each and every model of I phone 6 there is an immense queue. This has broken all the history and has become a craze.

K*** at 15:33:42
For iPhone 6 too, or just iPhone 6+?

O2 : D***: at 15:34:55
For each and every model people are coming to get a model and if that is not available they're immediately going for the next available model so 6 and 6+ in all memory sizes and in all colors is in high demand.

END

You're through to 'O2 : Haiden'
O2 : Haiden: at 14:46:47

Hello, it's O2 : Haiden here.
What can I do for you?

Dino F: at 14:47:58
Hi Haiden...!! Was just wondering - if I was to give you my iPhone 6 order number, would you be able to check to see if I will actually receive it this Friday, or will it be dispatched on friday instead?!

O2 : Haiden: at 14:50:03
Dino, it'll be on first come fist serve basis. Also, we'll be start dispatching from 19 September 2014.

Dino F: at 14:52:12
..I placed my order last Friday around 10am. Should I expect my order to arrive on Friday or is it more likely to arrive on Saturday or even Monday?!

O2 : Haiden: at 14:52:29
Let me check your account.

O2 : Haiden: at 14:54:48
Yes, the order is in dispatch status. So, you'll be the luckiest one among the others. Also, you'll be notified via an email regarding the dispatch of the order. \

Dino F: at 14:55:27
....that is awsome - thanks for confirming!

----------

So it seems that there are two types of replies you can get. Either direct confirmation that your phone is going to be dispatched early, or a very tactful brush off that keeps your expectations low.

I can take it from my response that I won't be seeing any iPhone for a few weeks :D

My chat transcript just now (iPhone 6 plus 128 silver):

info: Welcome to O2. Someone will be with you soon.
info: You're through to 'Wilson G'
Wilson G: Hello, it's Wilson G here. What can I do for you?
Wilson G: Good evening.
Me: Hi Wilson, hope you're having a good day. I was just wondering if I give you my order number if you could give me the latest order details for my iphone 6 plus order. I've been told your system gets more frequent updates than online
Wilson G: I'll check your account and give you the details for it.
Me: Thanks. Some people on the O2 forums have said that despite that MyO2 is showing an order as "In Progress" they have been told via chat that is actually awaiting dispatch
Wilson G: Let's clear a quick security before we proceed.
Me: Sure
Wilson G: Please can you tell me the 4th and 5th characters of your security answer?
Me: Blah Blah
Wilson G: Perfect.
Wilson G: Thanks for that.
Wilson G: Can I have the order number?
Me: Blah Blah
Wilson G: Thanks for waiting.
Wilson G: Please ignore the above message.
Wilson G: Thanks for the info.
Wilson G: S, you order is waiting to be dispatched.
Wilson G: It will be dispatched by 19th.
Wilson G: You'll get the tracking details on your email address.
Me: Oh that's excellent news.
Wilson G: Once it's dispatched.
Wilson G: Yes it is.
Wilson G: You're lucky that you have got the iPhone 6 order completed.
Wilson G: Some customer are still waiting for it.
Me: There seems to be some confusion around regarding if orders such as mine will be delivered on the 19th, or be dispatched on the 19th to be delivered after that. Are you able to clear this up?
Me: I know I'm lucky ... it was a painful experience :)
Wilson G: Order will be dispatched on 19th and you'll get the delivery within 3-5 working days and if it was promised a next day delivery then you'll get the next day delivery.
Me: OK. Thanks for that
Wilson G: You're welcome.
Wilson G: Is there anything else I can help you with?
Me: No that's great. Thanks for your help
Wilson G: Congratulation on your new iPhone 6.
Wilson G: You're welcome.
Wilson G: It was nice chatting with you.
Wilson G: Have a great day ahead.
Wilson G: Take care, bye :)
Me: thanks

Nice one!

I checked the girlfriend's just now (pretending to be her) and they're saying her 6 will be dispatched on the 19th. I also asked him to check my 6+ (different agent, so worth comparing response) and he told me straight out:

O2 - **********
Since it is iPhone 6 plus it is out of stock so it might not be possible for him to get the phone dispatched on the 19th September 2014.

Then

If it more then 8 days and the customer does not get the iPhone 6 or 6+ O2 is going to provide with a loyalty payback.

Customer will receive an airtime credit for each day they wait, up to a maximum of 42 days (which is a maximum of six weeks).

So people can pretty much find out if they're up for an early delivery. Worth checking!

Well I'm going on the following logic (hope more than logic probably)

- From my most recent chat, if it's "waiting for dispatch" then I must have been allocated a unit.
- From a previous chat, if they get the units thursday they will be delivered friday. If they get the units Friday, they will be dispatched friday.
- Ergo, I expect it Friday or Monday.

^ Interesting.

Wasn't O2's twitter account supposed to be offering people something for "our patience" when the website failed?? I don't remember seeing anything for that?
