I have exactly the same as you except my order has a stock Macbook rather than an iMac (which on its own apparently takes 24hrs to ship) so I really don't know why it is taking so much longer. I placed my order on the 30th Sep and it shipped on the 3rd Oct and now I have the 13 Oct message like you have mentioned above. It is just really frustrating not knowing where it is at all (ups tracking doesn't work yet either). So I guess at least you know you aren't the only one! Let us know how you get on if you call them!
hmm ... i think UPS actually dnt deliver it until its in the UK, apparently its supposed to merge with UK apple warehouses then its shipped via UPS. Not sure though, as mine came from suzhou china to Liverpool UK via TNT. (just the ipod touch)
Just an update today, I managed to walk straight into Currys in Bristol and pick up an 8GB, got home and cancelled my order with Argos straight away.
Lesson of the day: Don't order from Argos!

I think its like that every where now, i cant belive people order from apple.com/uk/thestore when they could just pick them up from currys/commet/john lewis on the high street

Went into Argos today to try to change the postal date of my touch (they can't change it to send to my work address). They said it would probably be attempted to be sent to my home and then sent back to a depot and then to ring them back to arrange redelivery.
Sod that! I went into Curry's next door who had a ton of week 39's and bought one there. It was the final straw for me and Argos.
Funny they have the huge poster saying 'OUT NOW!' then the small print 'for pre-order'. What a scam! why do the staff then promise next day delivery after the 28th Sept?? this shouldn't be allowed.
Oh well, I will know for again.

Just got off the phone with apple (again) and they still dont even know where my parcels are, or why there has been a hold on my delivery, they couldnt tell me who it will be shipping with, or on what date it should be delivered. They told me to expect an e-mail by the end of the working day with a possible explanation and solution to whats gone on

They had both the 8gb and 16gb in my local Dixons store on Saturday, i wasnt sure about getting one, but now ive just seen that theyve been "broken" so you can install any apps on there i am gonna go get the 16gb first thing tomorrow!

Just had a phone call from home to say the macbook and touch I ordered on the 30th Sep have finally arrived, the day at work is really going to drag now! Hopefully you should get yours today aswell Rookie1986.
I phoned TNT and UPS and neither has it so unless apple use another currier then I doubt it m8ty,
Just had a phone call from apple regarding my letter that I wrote to sjobs@apple.com last week, they apologised for the poor quality of service I had experienced and guarantee delivery for me tomorrow, there also going to phone me again tomorrow to make sure Im happy with my iMac and iPod touch.
Im also considering asking what compensation I am entitled to due to the delays and having to arrange someone to be home on each of the different delivery dates Ive been given but Im not sure yet,
Guess I will be keeping it after all, will post tomorrow from my iMac

Fantastic! in a nutshell: easy to set up wifi, youtube ran perfectly (even faster than my laptop), the internet browser is great, a step ahead of any portable device.. although a pain that they haven't included flash support yet as almost half the websites need to use it. Noticed battery life drains quite alot when using web browser but should give you a few hours use. Custom apps look like they are available, although most look a bit pointless at the moment. All in all a very cool device! a few firmware updates are definately needed though and the internet will be as good as anything. Oh yeah I heard it plays music too

Theres still loads left in stores here in Essex. Got a 16gb Touch and the wife a 4gb nano yesterday in Currys.Digital (Dixons) they had shelves full, however Argos next door had nothing available instore.
Wanted to go to Apple store but tried ringing for 1/2 hour and no answer as wanted to check stock before the trip to Bluewater.
Jailbreaked straight away and put Mail and made calendar editable, no problems so far and think it's a good addition to my ever growing ipod collection...

**** Please note TNT do NOT deliver on weekends so technically the order from order to devliered to my door is 10 days but would of taken roughly 7 or 8 days if it wasn't for the weekend.
