Just called up TNT, gave them the tracking number under "Our Delivery Reference Number" (apparently this is the right one, not the one starting 802). They said it won't register in their system until it's been collected, and it's unlikely to be collected tonight now. She suggested I try again via the website tomorrow around 4-5PM, and if there's nothing then, give them another call. This is basically hanging on Apple saying "ok you can come collect now", I'm told.

The delivery reference number has 10 digits. The consignment number on the internation tracking site of TNT has 9 digits like the one that starts 802 and on the UK site it is 8 digits. So I think that person has given you some incorrect info

I gave them both and only the 10 digit one registered on their system. :/

 when I called them the lady told me the 802 number is what you usually use and that makes sense cos its 9 digits and thats how long their consignment numbers are for international tracking

This is the international page read where it says the consignment number is 9

http://www.tnt.com/webtracker/tracker.do?navigation=1&respLang=en&respCountry=au

This one is UK .. only 8 numbers:

Is yours coming from the UK or China? Mine is UK, ie not international. :/

im pretty sure its uk as the destination country is the uk!

i.e. its arriving to us via tnt uk...

i wonder if anyone in the netherlands could confirm, theirs says tnt international, or netherlands?

How do you know yours is in UK? I thought that too when I read via TNT UK but on the phone I was told Apple ship everything from abroad and they write TNT UK because that is the destination they are going to. This makes sense because my order prepared to ship at 23:30 yesterday on a Sunday! So it must have been coming from China because I doubt anyone in UK would be preparing orders at 23:30 on a Sunday

Just called up Apple, here's the deal for anyone who has one coming from the UK.

Some people have tracking showing as arriving Tuesday/Wednesday? Not gonna happen ("not a chance"), Apple have them boxed up in trailers and aren't releasing them to the carriers until Wednesday night at the very earliest, he reckoned Thursday most likely. Tracking numbers will start working as soon as they've scanned them on pickup. The guy actually said "So you're reading MacRumours, right?" half-way through me explaining. :p

Edit: If it says TNT UK or UPS, it's coming from the UK. If it doesn't, it's coming from China.

Trailers huh? Whereabouts? :p we should pay those trailers a visit lol

No, I've got 2 iPads and a load of accessories on order and if there is a problem maybe I need to be doing something about it?

There are no issues we are just trying to figure out when our iPads will be in our local depots so we can go and collect them. No one can deny you to collect what you've paid for!

so i stand corrected then :)

mine says tnt uk, wifi 64gb, apple case, and camera kit!

makes sense that they have paid for the carriage, so tnt have issued them a number and details so its ready for the ipad to get picked up

I think this thread and overall forum is making the wait for Friday quite enjoyable in a strange way lol I've never seen so many different explanations about what may or may not be happening (I include myself in this category lol)

I am sure all those waiting for their iPad(s) on or before Friday won't be disappointed :)

Ummm, if you 'Pre-order' something in the knowledge that you'll get it on a particular date then I think you'll find that Apple have got every right to withhold it from you until that given date, whether they will or not is another matter I suppose....

Apple delayed UK release date because they did not have enough iPads to sell over here in the UK. In this case if my iPad is sitting in a depot 15 minutes from my house for which they've already taken payment for than it would be stupid to deny people from collecting their iPad

Being stupid may not stop it from being so.

no my point was not about it being "stupid" my point is we have had to wait longer for the iPad due to lack of stock but if your iPad is sitting in your local depot than why stop people from collecting it?

If this is your idea of fun, you need to get out more.

Did I say I was having fun? No I didn't. No great surprise that you struggle to read.

Maybe I'll look around the forums to see if I can find someone's chips to p*ss on. Oh hang on I don't need to, you've got the "sad, lonely, angry child that needs to annoy others in order to dampen the sadness" character down to a tee.

You said it would be stupid to deny people collecting their iPads early. What I meant was it might well be stupid but that doesn't mean they won't stop people. They have set the release date as the 28th and they may hold us to it (there are all sorts of things going on in the background - itunes store for example). They might not but don't be surprised if they do is all I'm saying.

Hush now.
