Not sure what's happening with my order (iPad 32GB WIFI + Apple Case) pre-orderd on May 10 at 01:04 AM

All I can confirm so far is that it was shipped on May 22nd

My Apple order status page has changed today so there is no longer a link to "track this shipment". The U.S. Apple order page has shipped by TNT UK Ltd where as the U.K. doesn't specify. The estimated delivers or delivers dates are not specified any more.

The reference number (I'm assuming consignment no) when entered on the UK TNT website (Track - International) results in the status: Delivered to someone in Athens, Greece on Feb 11 2010

When using the reference for Track - National I get "not found" so I am assuming the tracking has not been set up for my order yet.

I called TNT and gave them both my consignment number (what I used above on the TNT website) and Apple reference number (not the Apple order number but the Delivery reference number stated in the shipping confirmation email) and neither of them came up on their system! Not even the Greece one lol

The TNT said it had probably been shipped from China (since it was shipped on Saturday) and it may take a little while for the tracking information to be updated (latest by Wednesday she said).

I then called Apple and they said they wait until the end of today or even tomorrow for the tracking information to be corrected. However the lady said the order may already be in the UK and it could be sent out for delivery as early as tomorrow! So who knows??? lol

same here mate, 64 3G, traking number from TNT shows some shipment already delivered in Athens on 7th of May 2010, called TNT, the lady said that sometimes numbers are recycled and to wait untill the items are scanned, I found it strange that they would recycle a traking number only 17 days after it is delivered.

I then called apple, the lady tried the tracking number on tnt's system and could not find anything, I told she may be using the UK tracking not the international, she said that the items will be shipped from depot in the UK and to expect it on friday. I dont think she is correct because the TNT consignment number I got is 9 digits and the UK to UK numbers are 8 digits.

Well the plane that will probably be bringing my ipad to Europe has now left Dubai and is heading for HK. Its possible that some iPads managed to get an earlier flight though, or maybe not and they are all waiting at HK airport, its hard to be sure as the TNT tracking doesnt go into quite that much detail.

As for international TNT tracking numbers that are not working yet, maybe your stuff is starting its journey in Amsterdam or Liege and may not show up for another 24 hours or so.

Didn't somebody say they were told that the TNT UK Ltd consignments were just labelled as such because the UK is their final destination? Seems difficult to pinpoint if there is any pattern between TNT UK Ltd and TNT International Express...

Whoever said 'ignorance is bliss' clearly didn't preorder a friggin' iPad :p

Yes, a TNT rep told Chelmo that 'Apple's deliveries all come from abroad but it states as "TNT UK".' But this conflicts with what AppleStore reps told other forum members earlier i.e. that some iPads would be shipped from the UK. They can't both be right!

If 'ignorance is bliss', I'm very blissful at the moment

Just spoke to UPS, I was told that the delivery is UK to UK, and it can be delivered anytime this week. Interesting.

Ipad 16GB 3G:)

More evidence that some 3G iPads, specifically the 16GB ones are already in the UK.

My 32GB 3G iPad is exactly the same. Courier assigned has been UPS(UK) from the start, and has had the 1ZW tracking number that is currently stating the billing information received.

I think people are expecting too much. The iPads will turn up en masse on Friday - if yours is showing a UPS tracking number, it's in the UK but held at the distribution point until Thursday, and if you've got a TNT number it is on the way over from China, arriving in to the UK on Wednesday, and then out to UPS on Thursday afternoon/evening.

To quote Gordon Gekko; "information is the most valuable commodity I can think of". Problem is there is precious little of it about at the moment!!

Mine apparently shipped on 21st May but the tracking number still doesn't work on TNT. Just says "Not found", regardless of whether I choose consignment no/reference no or UK only/International.

I expect some to come early, but how many I cannot say.

For ones coming from China with TNT tracking number, I think TNT will deliver all the way to the customer, I dont think it will switch to UPS! Thursday or Friday seem likely, although Wednesday is not impossible.

Hehe - confusion continues to reign!

Just wondered if other people getting stuff shipped by UPS are seeing the same as me...

I got the "shipped" email yesterday.

The button to "track this order" in my apple account was there earlier, but is not now. It also does not say that it is UPS anywhere now.

However, when I go to the UPS website, both tracking numbers show "Billing Information Received". I think that as discussed elsewhere, this means that UPS may not have actually picked it up yet.

No money's been taken from my account.

I have two packages being delivered. One @2kg is presumably the iPad, and the other @ 0.4kg is presumably the case and SIM.

Personally, I'll be pretty astonished if anything ends up being delivered on anything other than Friday.

Since it's not due until Friday, why don't you all stop hassling the TNT/UPS/Apple call centres and let them get on with the business of delivering the parcels!!??

Delivered to... distribution centres on Thursday? For final delivery Friday? ;)

Not what my guy said. From the hub, on his van, to the streets, He doesn't deal with hub to hub stuff, just hub (specifically Bury St Edmunds) to doors (Specifically Colchester ones).

He didn't (couldnt) however specifically say iPads.

Just passing on what he said... ;)

If you check via the US AppleStore, it should still tell you the courier e.g. mine still says:

Shipped on: May 22, 2010 via TNT UK Ltd
Delivers:

8023#####

on the US store, but the tracking still doesn't work.

Ok everybody had better stop. He used bold font so therefore he must be serious. It's lucky he's here to ruin the fun for everybody that's getting involved, who knows where it might have gone from here without the fun police?

Who'd have thought people would have been excited at the release of a major Apple product?

Sir, on behalf of all those that were enjoying themselves here,
I thank you for stopping the madness with your bold font.

Look if you're gonna be sarcastic at least use italics.

Mine left Hong Kong at 18:00 local (11:00 BST). Wonder if it comes straight to the UK?

Hope it doesn't arrive Wed as I'm out on business all day :-(

It Is their business by definition to answer calls and reassure the paying customer. If it bothers you, look away.

Has anyone else got this...

On the email I got from Apple, it said my delivery reference no. was 811******* and when I went into my account in Apple, it's a completely different number which is 802****** - is this normal ?

I don't know if you are UPS. But I spoke to TNT on phone they told me they would leave a card if you are not there and you can go collect the iPad at your local depo. So in worst case scenario you can still go collect it :)

802 is the tracking number thats what you use for TNT. They wont show online though you need to call them!

That is worse case. Just checked and it's about 150 mile round trip for me.
