I ordered my 16GB white iPhone today (7/22) and AT&T told me that they wouldn't charge my card until it shipped. A few hours later my card was charged? I wanted to know if this happened to them? I doubt they shipped my iPhone that fast.

The white ones are shipping a lot quicker than the black ones. You should check your order status to see of you've got a tracking number. Then you'll know for sure.

I don't know the website. Can anyone tell me it? I think its: http://www.cingular.com/order_status/order_status

But I'm not sure.

And I just ordered it today.

I'm hoping it already shipped, but I highly doubt it.

that's the website - from the verification method select contact number (whatever number you gave them to contact you)

enter the contact number
enter the zip code for the store you purchased from

and, you have to click on "Submit" if you just use the enter key it will take to a website.
 
I tried this but it gives me a message saying why it might not be working and one of them is your order was placed in the last 24 hours.

And then I called AT&T and they answered my question wrong by saying that I wasn't going to be charged twice and that wasn't what I was asking. But I'll wait until tomorrow.

Has anyone else had this to happen to them before?

are you sure it just isn't a hold that was put on your card?

Just to let you guys know I checked the status of my iphone and there are 4 people left in front of me until mine ships.. Also another note, a couple of days ago at&t released the hold on my card and I had the money back in my account.. Just this morning I look in the account and the money was taken back out again.. So hopefully mine is shipping soon..

How many days did it take for the new charge to appear? Mine disappeared this morning.

I looked on Sun. and saw that it was taken off.. Just checked last night and it was back on.. I order mine from AT&T on Tues 7/15. I've been excited just like everyone else.. But I will see what happens in the next couple of days.. I would say if yours disappeared this morning look to see it come back on tomorrow or the next day.. I don't know if that means our phone are getting ready to ship or not but my guess is probably..

ORIGINALLY: I had ordered a black 8gb on 7/15 in the am. As of yesterday, 7/21, I hadn't heard anything at all, so I went to AT&T, cancelled my DF and ordered a white 16gb, which I just got notification shipped TODAY and will be in Hickory, NC at my AT&T tomorrow (7/23). Wish I'd just ordered that to begin with, but wasn't sure I needed 16g. Now I am glad I changed that order!
 
I orderded mine yesterday on 7/21 10-15 days. Farmington, MO (Yes, I'm in Hicktown, it's about 60 miles south of St. Louis) How do you guys know how many orders are ahead of you. I can't figure that out for the life of me, did you call the AT&T store?
 
I ordered mine at the AT&T Store on Park Ave in NYC. I refuse to wait on the line at Fifth Ave (just to get in) to see if they have any. I called 5th Ave and i was on hold with "more than 8 calls ahead of me" for 10+ mins. I went over to Park Ave and spent less than 5 mins instore ordering my black 16gb. they said 10-21 days. online status is back ordered. will update as i get them. good luck to all!!!
 
How long after anybody here placed there order did the status show up in the AT&T website?

It says 24 hours but I wonder if it showed up before to anyone.

And where is this where you can check the status of people who ordered their phone before and after you?
