Ordered 2 16GB WHITE, Sunday, July 13th.
One of the iPhones will arrive TODAY by 3PM.
So that's 5 days.
The second phone, however, is still back-ordered.
No rhyme.
No reason.

I ordered mine at the AT&T Store on Park Ave in NYC. I refuse to wait on the line at Fifth Ave (just to get in) to see if they have any. I called 5th Ave and i was on hold with "more than 8 calls ahead of me" for 10+ mins. I went over to Park Ave and spent less than 5 mins instore ordering my black 16gb. they said 10-21 days. online status is back ordered. will update as i get them. good luck to all!!!
I noticed that my 16GB 3G iphone in black that i ordered on monday 7/21 now shows 0 in the back order column hopefully this means my order will be filled soon.
Now my order that i placed yesterday at 5:30 pm, according to AT&T's order status site says that my phone is no longer back ordered, but not yet shipped. however the "freight" still says it's back ordered. anyone else have the same experience?

I ordered a Black 16gb iPhone on 7/11 at 12pm at the Lutherville, MD AT&T store. It arrived 7/18, and I picked it up that afternoon.
Note: porting your number if you are at a store outside your area code is bad news. Took 2 hours, but at least I have the phone.
Ordered a white iphone today at the AT&T store on Concord Pike in Wilmington, DE. The person who sold it to me said they were typically arriving within a week. I will let you all know!

I've had the same number through three states and 11 years, but always with Verizon, so, even though they didn't like it, they did it. This time, I'll be dealing with a whole new company. If they can't do it, I'll have to refuse the phone.![]()

Just an update to the above -- my phone shipped at 11:12 a.m. today from Ft. Worth (I ordered it Wednesday evening). FedEx says it will be in by Monday at 3 p.m. I was hoping for tomorrow when I saw that it shipped today, but I guess I can't complain!
Just kidding...both are backordered.
It will work only if your billing address is in the area code of the number you're porting.
OK, so since i last posted (i know u were feverishly waiting), i canceled the black and ordered a white, on Monday the 28th. i wanted the phone sooner and i thought that the white was definitely unique. if i want it to look black, i can get a case. no white case i've seen has the look of the phone itself. sure there's no black case like the phone, but the white also shows less scratches (but more dirt in the crevices).
after ordering it monday afternoon, i got an email with tracking number. They upgraded the shipping to overnight. so it shipped FedEx at 3:41 this past evening (the 30th). it is due in to my store before 3pm!! too bad i work til 6, but the store's open til 7. i WILL NOT be staying late at work no matter what!! (well, i can't say that. i'm a nurse and may have to. i have 7 days to pick the phone up.)
I can't wait though
