Quite possibly the reason, because, the whole point of that extra PIN is to help prevent SIM hijacking.BYOD worked for me earlier this afternoon too.
I am on a corporate account… and I do still have that pesky extra PIN enabled. I wonder if either is the reason for the hiccup?
Either way: this happened when I had to replace my screen on my iPhone last year. Big headache these esims.
Hopefully the process gets easier.
Same here, I had to login to at&t's website and do it manually.
Exactly what worked for me earlier today. Was almost ready to go to an AT$T store but this method worked on the first try. Here is the link on ATT for BYOD: https://www.att.com/buy/byod/
I am in the process of doing it now. Will report back.
Edit: Worked flawlessly. Thank you!
Wow what a mess ! that is horribleI had this problem and took to ATT. Took over two hours to solve with multiple factory restorations and multiple e sims. He had to call his own tech support to get it to work
Not a smooth upgrade experience this year but glad we got it done
they had to do multiple factory restorations to your iPhone before they got the sim to work? It’s alright. Looks like a crazy number of people upgraded this year and servers must have been slammed. Many in the store trying to do the same, plus trying to buy new phones cases etc. the workers looked like they had had a looooong day and appreciate their patience
I’m on my third tryYes. I erased The new phone & started over, and it worked the 2nd time. I’m on t-mo.
yup, no diceMake sure the phone has been updated to 17.02 before trying to complete a set up.
my phone is my only phone so i can’t callI also did. I had to call ATT and they manually activated it on their end. 10 minute call.
Same. Visible was great. Even though I was a silly goose and didn't transfer my eSIM before wiping my old phone for trade in. Chat got me back up and running in under 10 minutes with a new QR code.
This was my solution as well 👍🏻Happened to me. I used the website but not "BYOD". I clicked Manage under my line, selected eSIM and then clicked Transfer to a new Device. Put in the new IMEI and was activated in about 30 seconds.
I just noticed a similar thread:I'm having this problem on an iPhone 15 Pro with Verizon too. The account transfer process failed the first time. It took 2 tries before I was able to transfer the data on my phone. Then when I erased my old phone, my new one didn't activate. It remained a glorified WiFi mini-tablet.
I guess I be calling Verizon to see what's up. Blah. This is why I only upgrade when it's absolutely necessary.
