my point is, i wouldn't see them releasing an updated macbookpro prior to the release of the already announced MacPro. Also, I don't see them releasing it around the same time either. But thats just my two cents. Who knows
I don’t see that they’re that tied together, other than if they do hold a press briefing for the Mac Pro (like they did for the AirPods Pro), it would be a convenient time to also announce the 16”. But yeah who knows.

PS There’s also the potential release of the AirTag, which is event worthy since it’s a whole new product.

I am not saying I am smarter than Apple, but...

if they change the touchbar into individual function keys monochrome lcd buttons, it will save battery and it could work.

My bet is they are tying the release of both to Catalina. We won’t see either until it is ready.

The north face in an Apple commercial? Stop reading.
One thing is true, people dreaming with a physical ESC key

The TouchBar is the exact same as the one here, 3 years before the initial models were released.

The price is the same. So turns out anyone can photoshop an image, send it to MacRumors, and have a whole article written about this "leak".

Edit: Okay, most of you recognized that as well. Nevermind then...

That image cannot be right: the separate Esc button is larger than the TouchID button. Jony would never approve such blatant asymmetry!

I’ve decided to not buy any laptop with the Touch Bar again. I do not like it, and it’s much less useful than actual keys for someone, like myself, that prefers NOT to look down at the keyboard while working. :/

Exactly the reason why I swapped a 13" TouchBar MacBook Pro for the new MacBook Air.

This is real picture put out by Apple to look fake to gauge interest for a new product to be released soon and to gauge numbers for build capacity and numbers for launch. GM does the same thing you put a real car on the road dressed up so people will see some of it They will recognize it but they can not see the whole thing. I think within the next two weeks.

No idea why they don’t use Face ID?

they could use the depth camera to make great effects... especially when the apple glasses arrive... you could do 3D floating head AR FaceTime.

also would be logical for the iMac without the fixed keyboard.

Pretty solid GPU actually. If this keyboard still sucks I'm going to be incredibly disappointed though.

Razor Stealth late 2019 models as alternatives?

Physical ESC key? Separate touch ID button?

That sounds like a very anti modern Apple design.

How many times have we all thought this about a leaked apple product to be proven wrong now? (Rhetorical)

Conspiracy theory: Apple leaked this image to MacRumors to gage our reactions to the changes.

Nice one! Too bad, if it was really true and the Mac is already heady, what would it change? OK, like, let’s say, all of us absolutely hate it, what would they do, pull the brakes and call it off lol?
Remember, Mac were invented by Apple to sell us more laptops!

The non-rounded corners in the bezels suggests to me that it’s fake.

I’m guessing the new MBPs should and will visually match both the bezels in the iPhone 11 and iPad Pro.

whyyyy Touch ID? its a laptop, you open it, it sees your face right away. its costs alot. just add Face ID!!!
A lot of the people who would pay for a machine like this are also the people who cover their webcams. Over here in Germany, the majority of the most pro users I've worked with have covered webcams and there's absolutely no chance they would stop doing it for Face ID. It's just the wrong market segment for that feature on a computer.

The Touch Bar has taught me that I hit the tops of keys when I type. As a result I tap the Touch Bar far more often than I intend. Normally I just accidentally bold words, but sometimes I turn on italics which can take me longer to notice. It has, by and large, slowed down my workflow. If it was placed above a row of physical F keys it might be better, but even then IDK if I’d use it.

I’ve actually customized my Touch Bar such that I need to hold a modifier button to get the function keys to show. My current Touch Bar just has the volume and brightness slider on it to the far right with the ESC key to the far left

As a dev, it really sucks to use the touch bar for hot keys, so I’ve just resorted to using the touchpad/mouse to step thru code

I like it, that they separated the ESC-Button, but i still would prefer normal f-keys, cause i use them quite often. But will be open minded and try it out.
