They're the same hardware. The reason that CDMA can't be enabled is at the software level.

Nope, its not software level and I can 100% assure you that. Unlike other makes and models out there iPhone's are hard coated from factory. Much like how Apple was not able to enable 1700AWS for A1528 iPhone 5 models sold before April 2013, same goes for AT&T/T-Mobile/GSM Unlocked A1533.

Extremely complicated! I hope that the iPhone 6 unlock for AT&T, T-Mobile will work fully for both carriers without any hitch!

I may wait now to see if that is true before buying the iPhone 6. I was going for the 5.5" model but I not keen on waiting till 2015 to get it since it going come out in November timeframe!

Just stick to the Verizon model, its the best one out there and holds the most value in terms of flexibility (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) Full 3G/4G + LTE on All North American Networks.

I have the Verizon 5S now and planning to get the Verizon 6 when it comes out.

Im not sure if this question has been answered but does the ESN status w/ a Verizon iPhone effect the use of it at all w/ a gsm provider?
Would i be able to still use it w/ ATT w/ a bad esn?

Yes. You could even use a Verizon 5s that's activated. Just pop in gsm sim. Good to go

I looking at buying a Verizon iPhone 5C!

Here more details:
Network Generation 2G, 3G, 4G
Network Technology GSM / EDGE / CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B / UMTS / HSPA+ / DC-HSDPA / LTE
Band GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900; CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B 800/1700/1900/2100; UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA 850/900/1700/1900/2100; LTE 1/2/3/4/5/8/13/17/19/20/25

Will this Verizon iPhone 5C work with T-Mobile, AT&T carriers without any limitations especially as far as LTE is concern?

Thanks.

Thank you! I have move back up to me old "5S" for a new purchased. I had a 5S and sold it to a friend about 8 months ago and now that the prices are going down; I am looking but strangely not very much. I going to keep looking but people are still pretty intent on bidding for the 5C and 5S to the point that 5C 32GB $150 off, 5S 64GB $200 difference is still hard to get in "new". I trying to get a new grey 64GB unlocked model for about $550!

But I may just wait and see if Apple updates the 4" and if they do; see what body styles are offered.

Yes, it will work. As long as your area has LTE, the 5C will pick it up.

I tried a gsm sim in a Verizon 5c but got the No Service signal. Any idea why?

I just got done reading about same problem someone was having and solution was to get a new sims card. If are near a GSM retail store such T Mobile, AT&T the can make one and help configure the phone too.

Good luck.

Verizon iPhone 5S/5C is probably the best model right now in terms of UMTS and LTE bands,

Verizon Wireless - iPhone 5c Model A1532 (CDMA)*: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 13, 17, 19, 20, 25)

LTE Frequencies:

1 - 2100MHz
2 - 1900MHz
3 - 1800MHz
4 - 1700MHz (AWS)
5 - 850MHz
8 - 900MHz
13 - 700MHz (Block C)
17 - 700MHz (Block B)
19 - 800MHz
20 - 800MHz (Digital Dividend)
25 - 1900MHz

Not only does it cover most LTE bands in the US but with support for Band 3 and Band 20 you should get good coverage in Europe since allot of GSM 1800 re-farming is going to be cheaper than buying new spectrum, Band 3 looks like its going to be a very popular choice.

Does anyone know if AT&T will unlock a T-Mobile iPhone? I know they unlock they're own iphones.

No! AT&T has a hard time unlocking their own phones. The last thing they would try to do is unlock a competitor's phones. You have to be full paid up on the T-Mobile phone from T-Mobile and be a customer in good standing and have a competitor's sim card in order to unlock the phone when T-Mobile email you the unlocking code. It like 20 digits long and have enter it correct or you start over again.

If you have a Verizon iPhone 5s on Verizon you are unable to use simultaneous voice and data while on their network. If you use a Verizon 5s on AT&T are u then able to use voice and data at the same time on AT&T's network or is that functionality still unavailable.

It's available. I've got Verizon 5s for my wife and she talks and surf on tmobile.

Correct. I have a Verizon iPhone 5S that I use on the AT&T network; supports simultaneous talk and data -- unless I put in a Verizon SIM card.

And Verizon iPhones bought on contract come factory unlocked.

Verizon iP5/C/S using AT&T SIM on LTE

First of all, I want to apologize upfront for asking what has been already asked, but I still feel a little confused.

My carrier is AT&T. I want to purchase a Verizon iP5 or iP5c from a private owner and use my AT&T SIM that's currently in my AT&T iP5, which I know is possible (the Verizon model will either be for me or for my son, if you're wondering). Will the Verizon iP5/c pick up and retain AT&T's LTE? The only reason I'm considering buying the Verizon model is for resale purposes when it comes time to sell it. Any specific reason for NOT buying a Verizon model to use on AT&T?

Thanks!
