Hi Guys.

I'm new in this forum. I bought Iphone 5 from ebay, and its locked to ATT. I trying to unlock with 3rd party service, and no success, because the guy, who is trying the unlock says: under contract, and its not possible. I'm confused, because I want to use the hungarian network. I was check my Iphone 5 status on the ATT unlock site, and says, the account is active. I cannot reach the owner, whos sell this phone.

If somebody knows, how can I unlock, please tell me.

Thx

Next time purchase an unlocked iPhone instead.
Or pay for a 3rd party unlock to unlock this AT&T iPhone.

I can confirm that yesterday, September 1, 2016 at 11:49PM PST, I submitted my unlock request to AT&T via the website the OP specified. 9 minutes later, I received an email saying my phone unlock request was successful.
Facts about my iPhone 6 Plus- Not paid off in full, 10 months remaining on the NEXT portion. Cancelled my line of service a day prior, unpaid balance remained.
I selected NOT an AT&T subscriber, entered my name and email and VOILA, worked like a charm.
I was expecting to wait the whole 48 hours to be told no and then pay $29.99 at some UK website for an unlock. I'm glad I stumbled upon this.

Taken with the appropriate credence that should be given to a random internet newbie who registered with MRF just to post this.

Has anyone been able to get their iPhone 7 unlocked that is also on the NEXT plan? I tried to unlock mine through at&t but their website said I'm on "contract".

It's real simple.

Step #1 - pay off the phone entirely.
Step #2 - wait however long it takes to get through their systems that your phone is paid off
Step #3 - submit a new unlock request and it should be fulfilled.

Just for ***** and giggles, I submitted an unlock request on my 6S+ that I got under contract last September. It got approved today. Sent the request a few days ago. Weird...

Interesting. I wonder if it was a screwup or if they have some sort of formula where they'll do early unlocks for certain customers / certain circumstance?

I mean i sent out an unlock request a few weeks after i got the iPhone 6 on NEXT 2 years ago and they instantly approved it. Tried to see if there were cheap unlocking services on eBay and they're all $60+. I remember unlocking my iPhone 5 that was under contract for $3 on eBay lol.

Damn, ATTunlocker.us couldn't get mine unlocked. I've been a loyal customer of AT&T for 7 years, used to pay like $292 for 2 lines monthly. What happened is I bought this AT&T 6s+ 64gb carrier locked from someone , thinking it'd be unlocked for like 3 bucks off of eBay. So I did this cheap purchase on eBay but the guy couldn't get it unlocked. Told him no need to return my money. Then I searched and found this ATTunlocker guys, they were like 99.9% success rate etc and all the comments elsewhere seemed to prove it. They took 5 days and at last they said they couldn't get it done and asked if I wanted a $150 premium unlocking service from them.

Then I talked to AT&T directly, a customer rep said expect and email within 2 days and it'll most likely be unlocked then. I was like nice, about time. And then the email came but saying the phone is still under Next plan. Sh*t. I just called them and asked for more info, they said it's done 11 payments out of 30. And no way AT&T will unlock it.

Swiftunlock is expensive, I gotta look elsewhere.

Anyone tried all these gevey sim thingies..? I know people have had bad experiences with them, are they any better now? Phone is on iOS 10 already.

Sorry, but you made a mistake in finishing the ebay transaction and your ideal course of action would be to just reverse it with the seller given your new information.

I didn't want the money back, it's just 3 bucks. Can't even buy a pack of smokes with it :p

Anyways, back at it again. Has anyone tried unlock2go.com website? Talked to them using their Customer Chat thingy on their website, they said they'll unlock even if it's still in contract. But for $40. The person I talked to had a problem speaking English, or so it seemed and he was just like "yes yes it's ok go pay now, your phone unlock 2 days".

So, go with them..?

I just tried two iPhones and got "Thank you for contacting AT&T about unlocking your Apple iPhone 6 A1549 device.
We're unable to approve your request because the account holder information provided doesn't match our records.
Please try submitting a new request.

" I don't get it, I am who I say I am.

I had the same problem with them on a paid off phone. Customer support was useless. I had the account for 10 years, bought the phone at an AT&T store even!

I was porting out to Verizon anyway, so I went ahead and ported the number and then submitted it as a "non-customer" request after the port was completed. They approved it immediately. =/

Yet another reason to leave AT&T.

Gevey SIM is useless, its better to get a factory unlock because with each software update most Gevey SIM's stop working plus you may have to redo the setup process often and some features may not work, its just not a proper solution.

You can also check out Samunlocks, Chronic and Hackiphone. They are very reliable unlockers on the web from the reviews I've seen.

FYI Request the unlock online. I have two iPhone 6's both on NEXT and both are not paid off yet.

I requested an unlock via their website. with my iPhone 6 and it was unlocked immediately.

I then requested for my wife (who is going to Japan in March and wants to use her phone) and it was denied because it said it was in contract.
I sent in a second request and it said it was denied because of NEXT. I sent in a 3rd request and they said, congratulations your phone is now unlocked.

I tested both phones with my sim out of my work phone (verizon).

Bottom line, request on their website and then request again and again and you will get it unlocked for free.
[doublepost=1498684589][/doublepost]Where on the AT&T website do you make this request? Was it a chat with a customer service representative? Or just sent them a message? Or is there a specific area to make the unlock request? Thank you
