I don't understand why it's so difficult. The iPhone I'm trying to unlock isn't even associated with a line with a waived ETF. I paid the ETF for that line and the final bill, and AT&T is still telling me that the special unlock team can't resolve the issue. You would think someone at AT&T could just look at the account, confirm that everything is paid, and then call someone at Apple to whitelist the IMEI for unlocking.

I hear you my friend.
It was a complete nightmare for me too when I left AT&T.
Not sure if they're doing it on purpose now that I left them and since Im not a customer any more they're giving me the runaround. Most wasted time, notations made to my account and unlock requests denied.
It was crazy.

Ported out of ATT yesterday. ETF is supposed to be waived ( because of the unlimited data price increase). Going round and round with ATT and getting all my unlock requests denied. Finally ordered through swift unlocks. Will see how it goes.

You too?
Funny how they're making the process so hard and miserable towards their longtime now gone customers.
They knew they would have many people with old unlimited data plans under contract porting etf free and those customers will want their devices unlocked but their process seems to be a never ending nightmare.
I'm glad my situation is over. Never going back to AT&T.

After all I had to go through to get my wife's 6s unlocked even after paying the ETF, I feel lucky that my 6s Plus that was associated with my line with unlimited data was approved on the first try several months ago even before I cancelled. I don't know why various IMEIs are so easy or so hard to unlock regardless of contract status.

Has anyone got an at&t 6S under contract unlocked recently by a 3rd party service? I can't figure out which ones are real or fake on ebay. Any recommendations? Also what does it mean to turn off an icloud block? Does that mean disable icloud on all my phones/ipads/macs? Thanks.

Please update here if it worked. For some reason they only take paypal, which seems shady.
Because paypal is not taken by another other stores except for ebay. It seems a lot like bitcoin. Also that website says they take credit card, but they really don't, they only take paypal. Anyways I signed up for paypal and paid for a swift unlock this morning. So far didn't get any acknowledgement email or update.

Personally I been using PayPal for over 10+ years. And yes it's accepted in millions of websites besides eBay. No problems with PayPal and a few times when I had to request a refund they handled it great.
And you also have your credit card protection there so your $9.99 should be pretty safe there scrooge mcduck :D
Also I wouldn't lie when I said I used swifts services many times over the years and as late as a month ago with no issues. ;)

I need to pick up a new sim card somehow before I can finish the unlock process..

Can't you do a hard reset and restore in iTunes to see the unlock message, or is that only for old iphones.
