My wife has a 7 year MBP that has squeaky speakers and my MBP is 5 years old. We deserve new 16" M MBPs. Sure the wallet will hurt but it will be a transient pain.

MBP here. If by some miracle they knock some weight off the 16, I'll consider it. Otherwise 14 FTW.

So, off topic, but Microsoft has released pricing for Windows 365 - who wants to try running Windows on their new 14-inch or 16-inch MacBook Pros later this fall?

16" MacBook Pro M1X is definitely the Apple product of 2021
It has to be. They released the first versions of the Air and 13" Pro only last year, so they aren't going to do a complete redesign this year for either of those.

We're getting a redesigned 16". It'll have a few more cores. Perhaps an option for 32 GB.

It’s a good thing my iMac came in, otherwise I’d open my wallet!

By end of next year per Gurman:

I really hope it doesn't take that long, because as per Gurman:

Looking ahead, Gurman says that the new MacBook Pros with more “M1X” processors are still on track for a release in the “coming months,” while a new high-end Mac mini will come “soon after that.”

"soon after that" better not translate to 2022.

Still looking to upgrade from my 2012 classic. Maybe just maybe now there is a worthy laptop from Apple with upgrading to.
oh crap me too, 2012 15.6" with the CD drive. this WILL be a worthy upgrade. we have been holding out for long enough.

16" M1X MacBook Pro is literally going to be the most exciting thing that happened in 2021.
I know right, I’ll be clicking refresh on the Apple store! But what if the 14” is essentially the same other than a smaller screen.. it won’t be so obvious a choice

If you aren’t used to the features of the new Macs it may be a bit jarring, what’s your OS version? El Capitan?
