Unreleased MacBook Pro 6,1 and 6,2 Referenced in Mac OS X 10.6.2

all i am basically trying to say is that i am torn between the lasting quality of a mac, and the potential power of a pc. i would be ok if apple updates the standard gpu to have 512mb gpu, but currently, that would cost too much for when i go to college.

(gonna be a computer science major, and i like to play games).

Get a Mac and 360/PS3? Thats what I've done, dont miss windows in the slightest. Plus theres more exclusive games for consoles.

makes sense. ntm i just red cnet's review on the current apple gpu's, and it says there is basically no difference between the current discrete graphics and integrated. knowing that, i don't really give a damn. i don't play that many intense games. i only play a couple windows (not xbox compatible) games. so, i finally realize i've just been trippin because now i know how much better competing hardware is to mac's. since my parents dont wanna spend much, ive been looking for the most "bang for your buck." but i realize that a mac is gonna last longer than a clocked out asus/toshiba/alienware gaming system that i wont even need to use to its full potential.

Who needs really powerful machines, well, get a desktop or something similar!

I never anticipated a quad-core in an iMac. Egg on my face...

Yeah, they didn't come And when they do I hope the 13 finally has a matte screen option and they all support blu-ray.......Apple is literally years behind in some areas!

Mate of mine works in an apple store here in australia and hasnt said anything about new models. Just stating that they brand out a new one this year (2009) Maybe he is just genuienly not aware of anything.

He is genuinely not aware of any new models.

We (as employees) receive absolutely NO information regarding new products. I find out about them when I wake up in the morning and NNW shows about 200+ apple-related news items vs the usual 20-30.

Then I have to come in early, read as much as I can about the new products for when the phone rings at 8:30am sharp with someone wanting to purchase one even though they were announced 4 hours prior.
