You should never be put off by complaining or issues that are raised on forums such as these.
Why? It's simple and it applies to every single mass produced product by every manufacturer.
When you manufacture tens of millions of devices, they aren't all going to be perfect, that's a complete impossibility.

So there's going to be a percentage of people who get devices which exhibit some form of problem. Human nature dictates that these people will be far, far more vocal than those without problems, we all like a good moan from time to time :D

Short of an inherent problem that requires a product recall, the people with issues will generally be in the minority, just a lot louder. If there was an inherent manufacturing issue with the iPhones there would be tens of millions of people with the same problem and Apple would have to address it or risk customer loyalty and financial suicide.

The simple fact that there are people getting devices with no issues proves that there isn't an inherent manufacturing or component problem. I'm not saying there are no problems, of course there are. Whichever iPhone Apple releases next year will also suffer from many of the same issues as this years model, it's unavoidable.

It would be nice if things could be manufactured with a 0% failure rate, nice but wholly unrealistic. There are going to be problems and there are going to be people voicing their discontent when their devices exhibit these problems. A sad and unfortunate but simple trait of mass produced products.

I'm wondering if those who say their iPhone 7 Plus doesn't have a yellow screen are actually comparing it to a previous model iPhone. I am on my second phone because i return and order a new one instead of playing the Apple exchange game. Both of them have had a yellow screen compared to the iPhone 6S Plus and so have all the display phones I've seen.

I compared mine to an iPhone 5, 5S, 6 and 6 Plus, as well as my calibrated PC monitor, and my MacBook Pro calibrated monitor. Mine is not yellow.

Out of the box my iPhone 7 Plus has a far more natural white than my 6 Plus had so I'm happy with it as is.
But if your screen looks a little yellow for your taste, have you tried adjusting the colour tint in accessibility? That's basically what it's there for, to adjust the screen to your personal preference.

The 7/7+ is a great phone plagued by typical poor inconsistent quality control. Getting one new with zero issues is seemingly like winning the lottery. Buy one at an Apple Store and look it over CLOSELY during the days that follow (you have 14 days) and if anything appears wrong TAKE IT BACK and try another or wait it out.

To help you somewhat here is a short list of possible issues:

1. Creaking clicking sound when handled.
2. Hairline scratches in display. View the display in direct sunlight or under LED lights with the display off.
3. Yellowish display. View the settings page to see if it appears rather warm yellow. Brightness max, auto off.
4. Distortions or waves in glass.
5. Excessive hissing or buzzing noise emanating from back of device.
6. Gaps between display and aluminum body.
7. SIM tray flush to surrounding body of iPhone.
8. Home button smooth, no sharp edges surrounding it.
9. Charging port not sticking out beyond surrounding aluminum.
10. Dust under camera lens.
11. Check clarity of sound from earpiece during call, should be loud and clear.
12. Overall check of entire device from mishandling during assembly. Look for scratches, dings, dents, etc..

Here's a video about the creaking clicking sound that the iPhone 7 makes.

Okay, so seeing the video I just did the same thing to my 7+ and heard a faint "click" too. But like the others in the video, I'm not sure why it's considered a problem. Time will tell if it leads to something.

Out of curiosity, I just tried it on my 2 year old iPad Air 2. Guess what? Heard the clicking!!!! You have to do it at opposite corners. I haven't had any issues with my iPad so don't think it's going to lead to anything.

---------------

I know many people who have either the iPhone 7 or 7+. Aside from the "clicking" just mentioned, no one has had a yellow screen. In fact, when I compared it to my 6S before trading it in, the screen was BEAUTIFUL! (Side note: I'm sensitive to color reproduction and am one who calibrates the TV screen for movies) No one has had the "gap" you can slide paper in to. As for the hissing noise when the processor is screaming, yes I've heard it but only when placing my ear flush against the back. Know what it sounds like to me? A processor. I've been working with processors since the early 80's and they all make that sound. It doesn't affect my use of the phone in any way. Unless I place my ear against the back, I don't hear it.

If someone has had the experience where they really swapped out 3 phones and each time the customer support representative agreed the defect they were describing was genuine each time, they certainly have the right to complain and question the quality of a run of the product. What they don't have the right to do is consistently spew how horrible a company's product is and chastise those who say they don't have any of the issues presented.

Every time something new comes out there will be a whole bunch complaints. You're reading dozens and dozens of complaints out of millions and millions of phones sold. It was the same for every iPhone released, MacBook, or OS.

Just like a new product, some may have issues. But, I don't personally believe that the iPhone 7/7 Plus have as many issues as people are making it out to have.

Maybe it is simply user experience, and I've not experienced any issue. Is there a slight learning curve, certainly...

Apple sells millions of these things. With that large of a quantity, there are going to be some people getting defective ones. Those are the people who search out the forums and post. You will start to see less threads about defects as time goes on. That does not mean the phones are being made better, it is because there are less people receiving them at one time. I upgraded from the 6S Plus to the 7 Plus and couldn't be happier.

If I press against a certain part of my iPhone 5s screen, while held against my ear, I can hear a very faint. Dealing sound.

So what?
