Awesome. So now, turns out Premier is holding up the order because I selected a $20 unlimited text plan which is incompatible with the iPhone 4? Odd both Apple and AT&T offered me the unlimited text plan if it's not really available.

The Premier Rep is unable to actually remove the messaging plan I shouldn't have been able to select (?!) and has to make a note of it and resubmit. Which would mean another 24 hours of waiting for the system to filter my order through, AGAIN.

So after mentioning how I'm travelling Thursday night and really need the phone on the 24th, he offered to "red tag" the order to get the people manually punching the error-ed orders through to do it quicker. The way he described the process conjured images of the bureaucracy in the movie Brazil. I feel like I'm caught in a Buttle/Tuttle nightmare.

Funny thing is, he said that if my order doesn't get processed to ship by tomorrow, the 23rd, it won't be shipped until next week as they're clearing out all stock from pre-orders and people who don't get under the wire will just have to wait. If a phone order doesn't ship by the 23rd, it's probably not going to until round 2.

Just repeating what he said. No guarantee any of that is correct. Have a feeling even the "red tag" might be a ruse considering all I've been through over this pre-order nonsense.
 
Good news, bad news

Finally went from Attention! status to "processing". So I went over to the normal (non premier) site to check my order there. It is showing two separate orders for the same phone. Credit card has been charged twice, both pending charges.

Man, is AT&T full of complete idiots, or what?
 
Well, finally got through a premier rep and he said it's still "processing". Asked him if there's anything else that needed to be done on my end and he said nope. Double checked my credit card info while I had him on the line as well.

Didn't know you could check your status through the regular site and just tried it...no luck for me.

He said pre-orderes will start shipping on the 23rd and 24th. I asked him if I'll get my phone by Thursday and he said "You should be I can't guarantee anything"

Comforting...:(
 
For people trying to get through, don't call the listed number.

Call 866 746 1081. That's the direct line to the Premier switchboard, skipping all the automated crap. If it gives you a "call back" message, just hang up and hit redial. Usually takes a few tries.

This number was posted earlier in the thread, back on page 2 I think, by someone far more knowledgable than I.

Finally I have a good update.

My CC declined the charge so I gave them a different number. I have no idea why they would decline the charge - I have over $1000 of credit left on the card. Maybe my balance is higher than normal and the large transaction from AT&T triggered some kind of fraud treatment. Oh well! A different CC had no problem accepting the charge. My order is now "processing." The reason they can make it change from "attention!" to "processing" is getting the CC to go through. She also told me there would be a slight problem with the port and I would have to call back upon activation to get that sorted out.

BUT at least my phone is coming. She thought the shipping email would be coming tonight or tomorrow.
 
No calls, no emails, no updates since 6/18. My phone was ordered at 6:45 am EDT on the 15th and it still shows backordered.

I'd love to be backordered. It's been pulling teeth just to get as far as I have, and my order still isn't showing up on the main AT&T order status page.

Once I get to backordered I'm going to stop caring, because at least then I've got something in the system.

Called premier and informed them of two orders showing up on the normal site, two pre-charges on my credit card. She was mystified that orders show up on the normal order status page, had no idea what to do with those order numbers and put me on hold. Came back on after being on hold for 30 minutes and was informed everything was kosher, the 2nd pre-charge would drop off and I am only getting 1 iPhone, as ordered. I asked if my iPhone would be shipping out along with the pre-orders instead of the 2nd round after June 29th, she was again mystified and gave me a vague response that I wouldn't really classify as an "answer". Something along the lines of "it is sitting in a warehouse just waiting to be shipped".

I wonder what would have happened if the 2nd pre-charge on my credit card would have pushed my card over its limit? Unbelievable.

Still showing "processing" on the premier order status, still showing two different orders for the same iPhone on the regular site order status page, except it is now saying ordered instead of back ordered.

Hmm, I am having my iPhone shipped to my work address, which is a different zip code than my billing address. If I put my billing address zip code in the normal site's order status search along with the wireless number, it shows one order. If I put in the shipping zip code in that search, I get two orders.

seriously..... If I had to hear that lady's voice telling me to call back one more time after I had to go through all the automated menus, I thought I was going to throw my iphone at the wall.

Wait, you tried to call AT&T Wireless using an AT&T Wireless device? You are brave. Always used my office line to call for fear of a dropped call.
 
I feel sorry for the next AT&T rep I get on the phone. I've had it with their ********.

I've called 3 times to find out why my Premier phone status says "we need more information to complete your order." And every time they tell me "oh, looks like it just needed to be pushed to processing. I did that for you. You should receive tracking information tomorrow." and everytime it changes my status to "your order is in process and should be completed in one business day" and every time it goes BACK to "need more info" within a few hours. All the while, my Premier status stays at "Attention" and I cannot even get a regular att site status AND my credit card hasn't had more than a $1 hold placed on it.

This is REALLY pissing me off at this point.
 
Icarus, that sucks! I would ask for a superior or manager to go over the entire order.

I finally got into the regular AT&T site last night but am still backordered this morning. Hopefully they can find a phone for me today and still get it here tomorrow.
 
Ok so if I WAS on backorder.. but now I'm not... but it's not in the shipped column either.. what does that mean? It still shows as ordered.. just not shipped or on backorder:rolleyes:
 
Making more progress.

Just called AT&T again and my order has been processed and forwarded to the warehouse for shipment.

I can finally see my order status on the regular site and my CC was charged today. Hopefully it'll ship out soon and I'll get my tracking info.
