Either this "doubling down on secrecy" is completely not working or they're doing the old magicians trick... keep the audience distracted with one hand whilst the other hand prepares the surprise. I doubt it though.... still can't wait for the iPhone 5!!!

Wow. While I'm not a fan of the whole "Doubling down on secrecy?!?" shtick, this one grabs my attention. Parts leaks are inevitable, and theres not much that can be done there. This is either completely on purpose, or just shameful.

Or, you know, not really a big deal? I mean, aside from a small, in comparison with the world in general, population of tech geeks getting early confirmation of stuff that most of us expected anyway, what difference does it make? Why bother spending energy to hide stuff like this when you're set to reveal all in a couple of hours anyway?

The point of secrecy and what Tim Cook was talking about, is to ensure your competitors don't get the edge on you by learning your plans early and beating you to the punch with new products. I know some of these Asian tech companies have crazy fast turn around times but even they'd be pushed to do anything with this new info in the next three hours!

Sloppy, very sloppy, Apple. I know it's frustrating, but I'd rather they go back to the previous no-leak/minor leak era. Ruins all the fun otherwise.

???

What's up with Mr. Cook?
I feel like he has very little control over the company. I mean, all the leaks and now this. I would think this is an important detail to keep secret until the official event.

boring

Why is Tim even scheduling an Apple Event? Everybody knows whats to come. Thats just plain boring. :(

Just bring up the Store already..

This is one war that Apple can't win, Amazon have a major foothold in this area. What it will result in is better prices for the consumer.

My iOS Request....

I know it's a little late for requests.....but who knows, maybe it will be included!

I am tired of having 4 or 5 bars and NO DATA CONNECTIVITY with AT&T. Can we have 2 signal meters? We should have one for voice signal and one for data signal. Nine times out of 10, when I pick up my phone I'm going to be using data connectivity. I'm tired of my phone being unusable because the data connection is so slow.

I have a new iPad with LTE. For the record, I have the same issues. I live/work in downtown Houston. In some neighborhoods the LTE works great (30-40 mb/s). When I'm at home I use wi-fi. At work I have 3 bars and I wait about 2 minutes for a web page to come up.

I can have 5 signal bars on the meter and my calls drop. The signal meter serves no purpose as it is currently implemented.

Oh I get it, thats what I was saying, that the focus is not on what most people are complaining about. But theses "link leaks" wouldn't have been extra energy. To make them public like this would have to be on purpose wouldnt it? From a coding/webdesign/server/whatever standpoint?

Yep. He's sitting at his desk designing phones and building websites etc.
