I hope the MBP update is more than just a Haswell upgrade. They could have done that months ago. New design? New colour? Touch ID? etc.

That's my question. Maybe we'll get a rMBP in space gray. That would be nice.

Still nothing about Thunderbolt Display? Boo.

That might not be a major announcement, just slipped in as a part of a "We've got a new monitor too..." type thing.

I thought by now we'd at least have seen a USB3 TB Display.

I want to see a 27-30" 4K display in _black_ to match the MP :D

I hope there is some kind of laptop that is better than the air, but still affordable.

Retina at a reasonable price would be nice, but really I just want more screen real-estate and a decent amount of storage.

Why are people so anxious for Haswell? What are the big improvements?

MacBook Pro..cause I won't be able to afford the Mac Pro desktop.
:)

I've been waiting for new MBP for a while - here's hoping it has something compelling updated in addition to Haswell!

For mobile it's mostly battery life + a little performance gain (important for notebooks obviously). I'm sure others can expand more but that's one piece of a bigger refresh puzzle.

I read previously a rumor that Apple was trying to get top shelf Haswell models for the MBP - here's hoping.

... if they have pre-order. iPad 2 didn't have pre-order and since I refuse to stand in line, I had to wait three long weeks after ordering it online.

I definitely will order the new iPad mini (my daughter took over my current iPad mini) - but I rather wait a few more weeks than standing in line or setting the alarm for 3am EST. I will probably pre-order when I get up (5am EST), if I am lucky I get it within a few days, worst case, I wait a few more weeks (It is great to have, but not essential for survival)

At some point the new iPad Mini will be available to order online (which may be what happened with the iPad 2) and if you don't get your order in right after that time then availability will plummet. It's like the iPhone 5s this year.

For the mac pro people its a big refresh because up to now the Mac pro's are running 2010 proc's.

The Mac Pro is not being updated to Haswell.

Haswell processors suitable for the Mac Pro is still a long ways off.

These Mac Pros are getting Ivy-Bridge CPUs

Energy saving. Haswells run the same speeds at much lower power requirements so they are amazing for laptops. But on a desktop their performance is pretty similar to ivy bridge. Although that means less fan noise on new iMacs so that's always good.

It's kind of sickening how much money this event is going to make me spend, the best case scenario is "way too much" money and the worst case scenario is "WTF is wrong with you!?!?!?!" money :(

I really wish Apple would go back to spacing this stuff out through out of the year.

I completely agree. My guess is that a barebones nMP will be in the $2,499 to $2,799 range and that's for the 8 core model with a 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM and the base dual Firepro video card option.

A quad-core or six-core maybe. But I seriously doubt the entry level will be offered with an eight-core cpu, especially at the prices you're suggesting. The cheapest eight-core xeon is about $1000 alone.

I'm worried we're gonna get more than just an internals boost in the Retina having only just gotten mine in June. There's no way I'll be in any position to buy a new one, but it'll bother me if it's drastically different. What are the chances, do you think?

My 2009 iMac died (technically the graphics card is dying, either way the cost of service isn't worth it), and I'm really considering a Mac Pro. I just want to know if I have a remote chance of getting one with a display for $3Kish.

When you look up what it costs for cards with those pro level video chips it seems unlikely.

I reallly hope they increase the effective resolution for the rMBP's - the 13" needs to go up from 1280x800 (2560x1600) to 1440x900 (2880x1800), like the air. Same increase for the 15". Now those would be killer computers. Maybe now that they have Haswell, they'll have the extra graphics power to drive those extra pixels.

Good news. Definitely excited about the iPad 5. I gave my iPad 3 to my little brother earlier this month and am working off a Mini. Overall nice, but I prefer the 10" screen (and a nice bump to the 128gb model).

Macbook Pro's = buy

iWork update (for MAC!) please. And lets not cripple it by making it only Word Document layout like the iOS version.

Aperture is also overdue.
