This is sad

Thanks for the heads up. Apple is lucky that note 4/edge isn't out. Samsung dropped the ball on their release timeline.

When I updated to iOS 8 I got same issue , I restored to factory settings and SYNC (not restore from backup) . Signal is perfect now.

I know its a long and tiring process, but better than having no signal.

I am sorry to say, iOS issues reminds me of Windows days when we had to defrag and reformat every few months or so

Haha I was on the phone with Apple support for an unrelated issue right as this iOS fiasco was happening. He told me that they just released a new iFix that addresses multiple issues people have been experiencing. He was in the middle of telling how to install the new iFix when he suddenly paused and stammered,

"Um... err... I'm getting a message...." (Long pause) "Actually there is no iFix yet, but there should be one coming soon. You can wait for it if that's your preference."

I didn't really think anything of it until I logged on here afterward. I can just imagine the poor phone operator, in the middle of telling to download the iFix, seeing a flashing message pop up on his terminal that said, DO NOT TELL CUSTOMERS ABOUT 8.0.1!!!!

Okay, 40 minutes to sync 130 apps and I'm back on. Still have to re-enter my fingerprints for touch ID so not entirely plain sailing but at least all is restored. Going to launch my Happify app to restore my mental state!!

I realize this is a pain for many of you, but I will say thank you for giving the rest if us a heads up so that we didn't upgrade to 8.0.1. I would have had to restore 2 iPhone 6's and wasted a lot of time doing restores.

So thank you to everyone on this thread that warned the world about this update. Thank god we have this community. Cheers all.

I imagine someone running to a big red ABORT button while flashing red lights and sirens going off.

Why Apple has not build something that you can roll back an update directly on iOS 8 that way if something goes wrong you go to the old version without using your computer, restoring or other things.

Ok...so what did I do to have Apple put out a hit on my new iPhone 6+.

I better be more careful when I bring up Apple in front of friends...

I would never ever trust single word from Apple especially after there new iPhone ugly model plus there crappy iOS update

I have a Note 3 - brilliant hardware, but Samsung bloat renders the device a bugfest. And they can't write drivers worth s---. Constant Wifi drop, bluetooth flakiness. I'll take the occasional iOS bug that is fixed quickly, without having to wait for 6 months for a patch for any Android issues. Because, after all, Samsung needs that time to get its paws on a new Android ersion and bloat the hell out of it.
