iPhone 12 Upright Wireless Chargers don't work anymore ?

My Wireless Charger which has worked perfectly with my iPhone X now doesn't work with my iPhone 12. I'm assuming it is because they have moved the position of the wireless spot on the back of the iPhone..

Real bummer that I now need to replace my wireless charging stands..

I also have an Anger wireless stand. If the coils have in fact moved locations on the back of the phone that would render the stand useless for me too 🙁

The belkin charger I have the coil is on the higher end which I tested with my AirPod pros so if they moved it on the 12 it would in fact make it inoperable.

On my Wireless it seems like they have moved the coils - as my chargers no longer work. This only applies to upright chargers - obviously flat chargers still work because you can move the phone on them..

If this is true, it will suck for me as I have three standup chargers I use with my iPhone 8.

I have an upright charger for my phone, so if this is true I’m glad I picked up MagSafe too.

I use an upright charger too, hopefully it works. I don’t really care all that much about MagSafe and like that I can just pick my phone up as I please from the wireless charger without having to peel something off the back of it

It appears to be dependant on the wireless charger. I have 3 in total - two do not work but 1 does work.. So you may be lucky..

Could it be more due to the new dimensions of the phones rather than them moving the coil? The iPhone X charging coil is in the middle of the phone and the coil on the 12 is too.

I have a Seneo wireless charger (looks like this) and it's charging my 12 Pro right now while I do my data transfer.

Just put my 12 pro on my Anker Power Wave stand and it charges fine.

Also some nicer units have 2 coils for the standing charger. If it doesn’t work vertically, try horizontal position.

Update: My anker upright wireless charger works perfectly with my 12 Pro, no issues there!

I have this same charger, and an 11 Pro Max, and it charges either vertically or horizontally - I just tried it.
