Got my 12 Pro Max yesterday, and I'm pleased to report that the cheapo Seneo charging stands that I've been using daily for 3 years now charge my Pro Max just fine. I was worried because some were having issues with the regular size 12/12 Pros on some wireless charging stands due to the difference in where the coil is located from past models.

This is the charger in case anyone is interested https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MUCZX6E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have an Anker upright wireless charger stand by my bed. I noticed that it was flashing an error light last night when I started charging. I had to reposition it a few times. My first time with the 12 Pro Max.

My Samsung EP-N5200 Qi stand charger works fine with iP8+, X, XR, 11PM, but not with 12PM.

My Samsung wireless charging stand, which I love, is having an issue. The error red light started flashing. Never happened with my XS Max. Well when I placed the Pro Max back on it, I noticed that the camera hump on the back comes down far enough with a case on that it won’t allow it to make full contact with the charging stand. The only way I can make it work is to lay the phone horizontally on the charger. Not too thrilled lol. But I don’t want the MagSafe because of what’s been said about leaving a ring impression on the phone and/or case, and I’ve only had my Samsung stand a few months. Also, I want a stand, not a puck. Space is at a premium on my nightstand. 🥴

I'm have my problems too with my upright stand and my 12PM. Takes a lot of fiddling to get it to work. Actually works better upside down. Of course I have to stand on my head to use it..
Is there such a thing as an upright stand that will hold the MagSafe puck??

If not yet I'm sure there will be soon. There are plenty of Apple Watch stands that have a place to snap in the watch charging puck. Same concept!

I'm wondering if anyone else has had an issue with the Nomad Base Station Stand and the iPhone 12 mini. It will charge for a bit but then start blinking the light and stop charging.

I have the stand, but using as 12 Pro Max. If I restart my phone it will charge extremely slowly. But even if it did charge, it charged about .5% an hour. And when I took it off and tried to put it back, I would get the error you're getting now.

I would encourage you to contact Nomad directly, if possible. They said they pushed a firmware out to fix the problem (1.04) and haven't heard of additional incompatibility with iPhone 12. The firmware for sure didn't change anything for the better for me.

I bought a (carqiwireless) charging pad for my Honda Civic last year to go along with my wireless CarPlay dongle, and the charging mat stopped working. It works perfect on my daughter’s 11 Pro Max, and on a Galaxy Note 5, but not my 12 Pro, or my wife’s 12 Pro Max. It says it uses QC 3.0 input, and I believe it’s a 3 coil mat. I’m not happy, because this was made for my car, and there’s not another good looking option other than spending $300 to buy the OEM version.

I've had no problems with my Anker upright with a 12 Pro Max.

To add Anker QI Vertical stand recently started flashing.intermittently not charging 12 Mini.
Fixed by placing i phone horizontally across base of QI stand.
NJoi this tip if required.

This is so dumb that apple broke wireless charging... I’ve had literally every iPhone... now the wireless charger built into my car won’t work with the phone. Worked fine with the 11 pro max

My 12 Pro and XS Max both charge fine in the Choetech upright Qi charger.

I have a desk charger by Tylt and it too stop working so moved my 12 up and down the back and seems fine 1/2" off the base so have a small rubber stopper on the bottom shelf of charger lifting the phone a little higher works perfect!

I really wish wireless charger manufacturers would mark the position of their coils somehow on the charger. "Positioning" has always been the biggest problem for me with QI, which Magsafe has nicely solved for me. Luckily my old Yootech upright chargers still work well.

My upright I have been using for a couple years work fine. The case for my mini is not mag safe so I need to position the steel insert that I need for my vehicle vent mount at the very bottom. Same as my 8.

This phone also seems particularly sensitive to where it is placed... even on the flat pad chargers, there is a sweet spot that is only several millimeters up or down where it won't charge.

The lenses also make it difficult as the phone can't lay flat on a charging pad.

The only reliable wireless charger I have is an anker upright charger that is shorter than the level of the lenses so the phone sits flush with the charger.

The issue is not that some chargers do work, it's that so many qi chargers do not! and if the charger is integrated into your car... there's nothing you can do about that.

iphone mini use here.
Twelve South upright - can finagle it in to working, but doesn't work just placing it in space
Anker/Ravpower - have a couple, both seem to work if you raise them high then lower them in, but then they lose connection
Tesla Wireless charger (S/X). Will turn charging on maybe 25% of the time, then charging stops within a minute or so. completely unusable

The tesla/car one is the most annoying to me as I recently bought it for $100 from Tesla and it charged my iphone 11 and 11Pro perfectly. Now I have to remove it and somehow rig up a magsafe charger or go back to wired charging.

Either this is Apple's way of moving everyone to Magsafe, or it's a major screw up. There must be millions of chargers that won't work now even though Apple says they do. Anecdotally we know that's not correct.

This sucks.

restarting my pro max seemed to have fixed the issue with my belkin two in 1 charger.
That only works temporarily. Eventually, the wireless charging problems will come back and you have to restart it again. Which indicates to me a software problem.
