Here's my 12 Pro on the Choetech upright charger:
I have 2 Cheotech and 1 Anker stand up chargers. All three work fine on my 12P and my wife's 12.
This is a good data point - the old Qi charging stands were made to line up with all phones except for the 12 Pro Max.
I wonder if the 12 Mini would line up ????
My Choetech upright charger works with my wife's XR, my work XS Max, my personal 12 Pro.
I also use a Choetech dual Qi charging non magnetic pad/mat on my bedside to charge 2 phones at the same time and don't have to fumble to remove a Magsafe charger puck. Too early in the morning to wrestle with a charging puck - I would have ripped it out many times...
I had a no-name upright charger that worked fine with my XS but would not charge my 12 Pro Max.
Bought the Amoner from Amazon and it works, but once the phone is full, it stops charging and seems to cause the phone to start discharging.

Mini owner here, wood effect noname stand up Charger that I originally got for my Samsung S7 was pulled out of the drawer and charges perfectly in both landscape and portrait mode. It’s almost as if the stand was made to measure.
After reading all the above gave up finding one that might work and went to the Apple Site. For the 12 Pro Max they list the Belkin Boost charge 3-in-1 as being compatible. $140, but it is out of stock.

I've had greater Vertical QI Vertical charging success,since using 3rd party 12 Mini Case.
Seems 100% charging rate, and Clear case looks very smart indeed with Product Red Mini.

I have a 12 mini that has been problematic on a few different upright chargers including an anker I have used for a couple years with an Xr. What I’ve found works for me is to put a piece of styrofoam on the ledge that the phone sits on to raise it about half an inch. That gets it to charge fine on the Anker as well a 3 in 1 charger I recently got on Amazon.
It's obvious that how the coils in the charger line up with the coil in the phone can affect how well a device wireless charges. However, I noticed that iOS 14 made a software change that also affected how well my iPhone XR charges on my wireless charging stand. After updating to iOS14, if I stand it up in portrait mode on the charger, it now goes in and out of charging, similar to what would happen if I was charging with a cable and pulling it out and putting back in every 10-15 seconds. HOWEVER, if I lay the phone in landscape mode on the charging stand, it charges just fine.
I had a very similar Seneo charger (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H76NIAS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) that works. I ordered a second one from the same page I ordered from in 2017 and the version they are sending now does not work. Does anyone have a current link to a vertical charger that works with the iPhone 12 Pro Max?

Used for a few weeks now. No problems, but annoyingly designed with the charging light hidden when the phone is being charged. Rather ugly.
erm...i have the Samsung Fast Wireless Charger and it works quite well with my 12 Pro Max...but i have to put it kinda exactly at the middle or it wouldnt charge...precision required to charge lol.
My take on the posts here is that older chargers may or may not work, or may work for a while. Chargers which have been released since the 12 Pro shipments started, and specifically state that they are compatible with the 12 are your best best. The solution, if your current charger doesn't work, is to purchase a new charger.
