This sucks I have to take my case off to get my 12P to change on my Anker Stand charger. Anybody get it to charge with a case on using the stand charger ?

This had me worried this morning. Tested on my cheap 3-in-1 charger from Amazon and it still works. Glad I didn't have to wait for new versions to come out. Being able to charge my watch, phone, and headphones was just too convenient.

I only have one stand up charger. Only Samsung chargers in this house. If it doesn't work with the 12 Pro Max I will just move it to another location.

Anyone have one of the Tesla Model 3 mat chargers? Wondering if those are not going to work either. Guess I'll find out next month when I get my 12 Pro Max.

My upright Samsung wireless charger works perfectly! I think your charger needs to have two coils inside to function as expected.

Here's what I can't figure out - there has to be more to this than just the iPhone 12 is larger so the sweet spot for charging is sitting too high to charge. I have a Mobile desk stand charger, I do not have an iPhone 12. But what I did was carefully place my iPhone 11 Pro Max flush next to the stand part (upright), and tried to see how high I could place it while holding it before it did not charge. I could place it easily 5/8" above where the phone would normally rest, and still have it charging! I checked, the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a height of 6.22", the iPhone 12 Pro Max is only 6.33" - 0.11", well within the tolerance of 0.625" I just tested. So if I tried charging with a iPhone 12 Pro Max it would either work fine, or it would be failing for a reason other than the size of the phone. Have any of you iPhone 12 users with desk-stand chargers that are failing, tried a similar test with a non-iphone 12 phone like I did, and see how high the phone can be held next to the stand (flush) and still charge?

I wonder if this has to do with the magnets used in MagSafe? Either in the phone or the MagSafe cases.

I have 2 RAVPower RP-PC069s and they're both kicking out the flashing red indicator (Unsupported device or metal detected / protections activated). Have tried with and without cases, portrait and landscape to no avail. My iPhone 11 Pro continues work perfectly with both. Experimented a bit and found that if I slide the phone in from the right of the base and stop when it first displays it's green charging light, it will charge as normal but sit in the RAVPower slightly off center. If I give it a few seconds, I can even slide it further in and completely center it on the base without it kicking out an error.

Same problem here I’m Not taking the case off every time I’m going to order a lighting dock and go back to the days before qi charging I guess. Sucks Apple changed that
What case do you have, an Apple Magsafe case, or one without Magsafe feature?

Anyone have the Belkin Boost Up, if so does that work with the 12.
(Sometimes I do get a yellow error light with my XS Max if its not centered properly)

Waiting for the Pro Max, now you all have me wondering about this.

I'm going to order a lighting dock and just go back to that I suppose. I have a wallet case and never carry a wallet now So I would hate taking my case off every night to charge my phone.

I have three 7.5w Powerwave (gen 1) Anker chargers and NONE of them are working with the 12's in our house (tried with two 12 and two 12 pros). I have emailed Anker support and am hoping they can offer some kind of guidance.

Found a fix for my none working wireless chargers. I have about 7 wireless chargers in the house, and noticed half of them didn’t work with iPhone 12 pro. Interesting thing was that my 2 identical choetech standup chargers gave different results, 1 worked and 1 just gave flashing green.

I started doing the usual testing, by swapping the 2 different qc 3.0 charging blocks but 1 continual failed. So next step I swapped the micro USB cable, bingo that was the issue. Also confirmed swapping USB cable on the other chargers in my house fixed the issue.

for people having wireless charging issues, you have couple options. If you are using a qc 3.0 charging block, you can try swapping the USB cable, or use a standard USB charging block. Cable swap would be best bet since you can get fast charging. However if you don’t mind the 5w charging, use a standard block.

keep in mind, out of 5 micro USB cables I had, only 1 worked. Not sure what the reasoning is, but I’m gonna order some anker micro USB cables to swap out all the non working chargers in my house.

Quick update

did some more testing, looks like cable swap didn’t help. Even though both chargers are same mode and brand, swapping cables didn’t provide consistent results. One would work for short period of time and turn off.

however by swapping the qc 3.0 to a standard USB charging block (5w) gave consistent successful results. So if you have a charger that doesn’t work, try swapping the USB charging block to a standard 5w. It will obviously charge slowly, but should work.
