If I receive my iphones tomorrow, and list some on eBay would that be illegal? Because the release date is not until 9/21.

First Apple will ask eBay to delist.
Second Apple will demand to fire whoever was involved in early delivery.
Third, is you are in SF area, they will send someone to pickup. Not sure if cops in other states will entertain, but they will try.

So, even if you receive it early, keep it to yourself and reveal details on 21.

Lol. You just made all of this up.

It makes no sense to go after a paying customer who received an iPhone early that he/she bought. Products deliver early every year. Nothing ever happens.

I think our iPhones are on the same truck lol. Mine departured Nashville at 3:06 also.

You talked to an idiot.

Another $10 coming here as well.

Come tell us tomorrow night about your new phone.

I think they do this on occasion, they would rather deliver it early rather than a day late and have to refund shipping.

Do you really think they will paying out refunds. This is a massive SPECIAL contract. Apply is surely not paying normal rates, and will not be getting refunds if a delivery is missed.

I called to check up on the delivery time even though I knew it said 9/21 and the lady on the other end said this package should be there no later than Monday 9/24 by 10:30am.

haha what? surely she had to be mistaken...

None of this is true. The entire shipping company is at fault, not one person. And he owns the phone. Paid the money. Didnt do anything wrong. Apple couldn't delist it, nor would bother trying. And why the hell would they get the cops involved?

Apple is not all powerful. Though you would like them to be.

Very doubtful that anyone gets their phone tomorrow, but very excited to see how this turns out.

A good chunk? If memory serves it's usually just a few fortunate souls. There's usually 2-3 youtube videos of people getting it early and a few posters on these forums. I'de say that 99.9% of people get it on launch day.

The point is... it has happened every year. Considering the phone isn't supposed to be in the public's hands before Friday, .1% is a good chunk, but if you want to debate the definition of "good chunk" I am happy to concede, since that wasn't the point of my argument to begin with.

Mine is coming from Tennessee, it said it departed today. My shipping was one day as well.

Strange that mine is coming from China and I live in Tennessee lol... I guess either common sense doesn't factor in, or the system isn't sophisticated enough to ship from the closest location, or their system is so brilliant that it doesn't make sense to mere mortals like me. :)

Seems to be highly dependent on model ordered (among other factors I'm sure). If I recall a lot of the ones that were shipping with mine (as gathered from other MacRumors members) were 32 GB models. I didn't ask about color or GSM/CDMA, so there may be even more factors involved.

I just called UPS also, and they said the same thing the OP is saying. It will be delivered to me supposedly tomorrow. I live in LA and it shipped from Nashville for me.
