just wanted to add if I ever lose anything valuable I will look no further than this forum; you guys put the real police to shame :p just saying!

Quite simple, one phone for me, one for my girlfriend, one for my farther. Nothing fishy going on, it's simple. I queued for my phone, ordered the ones for my family online.

----------

I will post evidence once I finish colouring in sensitive information from my order. I'm not looking for sympathy as that jerk suggested, I'm looking for advice on how to get this situation resolved.

You paid for goods :apple: never delivered to your specified address hence they are liable!:( I'd be banging hard on their door for a replacement:mad:

No, never. I ordered the phone, then got the conformation email straight after. And then no more emails from apple until today when they confirmed delivery. I look at my emails on my phone, which only I have access too, even my close relatives/girlfriend don't have access. So if I did get an email, I'd at least have a copy that got pushed to there, because nobody except me can delete from my phone. Apple said that emails are sent to customers but are not guaranteed. They were careful how they said it, but they sort of implied that no email had been sent, without actually saying that.

I thought you said you received an email saying delivery was attempted but not completed.

Hey guys, quick update, I rang my bank (Santander) this morning and explained the situation. They are sending me out a letter for me to describe exactly what's happened on it. Once I return that they will send it to a security department who will then attempt to get the money back from apple.

I'm way more optimistic after I called them, their customer service was excellent! Fingers crossed Apple can figure out what's happened and come through for me. :)

What's the latest you've heard off Apple or the Police?
Sucks that police won't try the address it was delivered to, though like others said, may have just been an address the thief could intercept a delivery to.
Is it worth seeing if anyone here is local to it, and check it out? # or is that a disaster waiting to happen?

You should get it all sorted fine, the banks are very good at dealing with this kind of thing.

I would be complaining to apple afterwards too personally if they told you there was nothing they could do originally. Thats not acceptable IMO.

Just call Apple and say it was not delivered. Simple fact is the relationship is between Apple and the delivery company until it arrives. Its for the Delivery company to prove you called up and changed it, I doubt that proof exists in the Clienet management system :)

Apple will send you a new one.

Your very much protected by the consumer laws in the UK. Unless they have your signature, and its exact, you are not liable. Do not worry mate.

Good news! Apple have agreed to send me out new phones. They did however say that I would be at the back of the queue and that I have to wait 4 weeks. So I'm going to take a refund instead. :) :apple:

If you bank with Lloyds you need to speak to debit card disputes. Explain the whole situation saying the item was never delivered

Good to hear.

Any news on police proceedings?

Erm, I asked if the phones have been recovered yet, she told me the phones had not been, and that she couldn't disclose any more information. She did say that I can't change my address on the re shipment, I think that the lady thinks that I've go something to do with them going missing... Oh well, I called the police, I wouldn't do that if I did it!

I meant what have the police said?

Can or will Apple somehow flag them as stolen and make them useless to whoever got them? OP, glad you got your money back!

Yes, I can't see this being anyone's fault except for Apple. How much time lapsed between making the order and you realizing that something wasn't right? No check of status in between? Good job on the process of getting your money back.

in the US you can only have it delivered to your phone billing address.

I had no reason to think anything was wrong until after the delivery took place! Nobody gave me any notice that the delivery had changed addresses which I find odd

I doubt the thief would be dumb enough to use his /her actual address. Most likely chose a random address and took it out of the mailbox on delivery day. Hopefully you can get your money back this is ridiculous. All these stories are making me not want to ever buy expensive items over mail.

Some people have no choice but to order it and hope it makes it to them. I have personally had so much bad luck with delivery companies that I refuse to order anything over $50 unless insurance is an option during checkout. And all they do is point fingers back and forth with the shipper if it's lost. It's pathetic, but mistakes do happen.

Apple will cooperate with the police and give them the IMEI number. The police will kill the device once they receive the unique number. Go **** yourselves, thieves. :D
