Hmm. I think the second reference number (the first being order number) in the UPS tracking may be our new serial numbers. (It is similar in format to my more recent Apple hardware purchase.) I'm gonna go look at my Apple Account (formerly Apple ID) and see if it's somehow already associated.

Go Caseless. Add AppleCare for peace of mind. Once you take off your case and get comfortable, you won't go back...

Yeah, I have Apple Care+ but still my phone would be full of scratches and dents from falls. Apple Care+ would be only if it really breaks right?

I always wanted to go caseless but having my phone full of scratches and dents would drive me crazy lol

I don't think he works for UPS, being that he sicked the cops on them last year over an iPhone not arriving on time 🤣
I don't think someone is "sicking the cops" when they've been asked to file a police report regarding an apparently stolen phone. And the investigation did result in finding the obviously stolen phone being surrendered in some fashion.

My delivery date from Apple is Friday for a 17 Pro. Nothing on UPS yesterday but mine also showed up this morning, listed as Next Day Air from within the US, 1lbs. So I'm sure it'll be picked up tomorrow.

Mine too...I got a new label created on FedEx for my trade in. But nothing for my 2 17PMs.
I thought Apple used UPS for all of their phone shipments?
As far as we know, they do. All of my stuff so far UPS, but still missing one. This is the first time all U.S. orders come from India instead of China, so no tracking for us this year.

Did anyone do wired phone-to-phone from a lightning phone to a usb c phone? I'm going to be upgrading from 14PM to 17P and am curious if the lightning will make it so dang slow that it's better to do it another way.

Is USB-C to USB-C the preferred transfer method now?
I have done over air the last few years. While it takes some time, its such an easy process. Also, not sure you get any speed increase doing USB-C to USB-C. Depending on how much you have on your phone, figure 20 minutes to a couple of hours.

It appears the most important thing when using any backup from a previous iPhone is having your Apple Account password. If you don't know it but are logged into Apple device(s), you can initiate a password reset. And maybe even if you aren't currently logged in, the security landscape changes daily if you haven't noticed.

If you don't have space in iCloud for a full iCloud backup, Apple has provided temporary space for an iCloud backup to transfer to your new iPhone. There will be a "get ready for your new iPhone" under iPhone>Settings at some point, and it will offer the space there.

I think the iCloud Restore started via Quick Start is probably the fastest and easiest method. And most people don't like transfers between devices as they lock you out of both devices until the process is complete. With iCloud Restore it will complete most of the transfer and then let you use the phone while it continues to download apps, email and messages, settings, and files.

Apple support document regarding setting up a new phone:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/102659

It includes articles about using iCloud Restore or wireless transfer between phones.

Another article that includes restore from backup from iCloud and from Encrypted Backup on Mac.

Here is a wired transfer document:

Good luck and may the force be with you. lol

I have no label in MyChoice yet, but I imagine that this entirely depends on where you live. At least for the east coast and midwest, phones are coming from TN. Using Next Day Air, they probably won't be dispatched until tonight or tomorrow. Just my guess.

Tracking number for iPhone 17 pro max been on UPS My Choice since 9/14 with no movement. My best guess is I’ll start seeing movement sometime early tomorrow. Interesting enough we are not seeing tracking yet from China to Alaska and forward. Either Apple already have bulk iPhones in the states or they just won’t let us see it 😂

Anyone from the west coast seeing label created on UPS My Choice?

Got two 17pm’s stuck in PTS ever since last Saturday. I wonder if Apple got ours staged in Rialto CA & won’t start sending them until Thursday.
No tracking yet, only see tracking info for the trade-in kit on fedex app

Has anyone ordered the 17promax clear mag safe case from Apple and has it already? Wanted to see if it really is white on the back?
