Yep I am still patiently waiting myself in the Oct 7-14 shipment window. My status still says processing. Hopefully they deliver closer to the 7th part of that window and not the 14th.

If I order a Pro Max from the Apple Store, what are the chances the phone will arrive earlier than the estimated date range? Just curious
In previous years, there was a decent chance that it would arrive earlier. This year, however, it might just be as likely to arrive later than sooner. Apple's really screwed over some peoples' orders this year.
It really depends on the configuration you order. Color / Storage combination is the biggest driver to any improvement in date range.

In the UK, my order placed 13 Sep for delivery 30 Sep-7 Oct has just moved to 'preparing to ship'

My new employer has ordered the 17 pro max for me - but I don’t start working there until tomorrow. However, I am pretty sure they didn’t bother being quick to preorder so who knows when the phone will arrive. Gave my iPhone 15 back to my old employer yesterday so I’m currently rocking an iPhone 12. if nothing else, at least if I have to wait a couple weeks it will feel like a gigantic upgrade after using the 12 😏
In the US, if you have multiple Apple stores within driving distance, getting a 17 Pro Max via pickup can be faster than ordering one for delivery. Blue in all storage configurations are the most readily available and can often be found within a day or two. Other colors are possible but harder (much harder for orange unless you want a 2TB one).
I ordered the morning of the 12th, and my shipping date remains unchanged at Oct 7 - 14. I am waiting on a 17Pro Max 512G silver.
In my area, silver seems the hardest to get. I've seen the orange Pro and Pro Max in 256GB and 512GB configurations pop up once in a while but no silver.
Same for white and sage green iPhone 17.
Yes Silver is the new Black for the iPhone 17 Pro Max this year. There were heavy orders for Silver both for delivery and at the stores.

I haven't been following the base 17 and Pro but, in my area, I can actually find the silver Pro Max in all storage configurations. Of course, they're in different stores, and I'd have to drive 70 miles to get some, though.
Blue is pretty easy, and orange is the hardest unless you want 2TB. Several stores have an orange 2TB Pro Max.
Edit: just checked the Los Angeles area: silver Pro Max is available in all configurations except 1TB.
Just 512GB (1 store out of 12) and 2TB in silver now.
Orange 512GB is available in 2 stores and it seems there are many stores with 2TB.
Is it your original date or it was moved?
Depends on store but usually they get scanned into inventory some time between maybe 10am and 2pm around here. Some stores will be earlier and some will be later.

My ISPU was for 1pm on Sunday after launch, went in Saturday evening (day after launch) and was able to pick up then. No line and store wasn't super busy, so they let me in. I hadn't received my email yet, but the order was ready so they said it was fine. Had it not really been ready, they weren't going to let me.
After DAYS of checking numerous inventory trackers, I was FINALLY able to secure a silver 17 Pro Max in 256GB at my local Apple Store for pickup today.🙌🏼
First impressions compared to the Air (which I will be keeping by the way)… she’s a BRICK. But she's MY brick lol. And I actually like the look, and feel in hand, about as much as the Air in person (shockingly). Why did I spring for the Pro Max as well however? For those days where I’m filming and/or just using my phone a bit more than usual, and find myself needing a bit more endurance and/or camera versatility. As for those lighter days, I will 100% be rocking the Air. So I guess I’ll enjoy BOTH, because there really is no “one size fits all” solution in this year’s lineup, which is both extremely exciting but also rather frustrating.
Anybody else doing, or considering, a 2 device set up this year? With eSIM it’s easier than ever to switch between multiple devices instantly, so… I figured why not. Especially since I got $700 in trade-in credit for my 16 Pro Max.

iPhone 17 daily driver (currently using the Air but will return it).
iPhone 17 Pro when I need the cameras and extra battery life. I plan on using it during an upcoming vacation otherwise I wouldn't have upgraded.
