I’m back for another year for the preorder. Going for the max blue (seriously no black. What a joke.) and befor it starts for all the newbies

1. You have to be home to sign for your device.

2. It will take time for your order email to come in.

3. You may not see any movement for days.

4. It will not be delivered early.
That being said, make sure to order for home delivery if you want to participate in the air freight stalk-a-thon that ensues. You will become an aviation tracking master.

All I want to know is what happens between 4x and 8x zoom. They didn’t clarify that and even Sales Specialists have no clue. Does it sensor crop? Like if I zoom into 5x will I get a 24 megapixel image? Or an 18 megapixel image at 6x?

This sadly may be the first time in years I don't upgrade...I really really hate the look of the pro max, and I don't know what the camera (which is my main determining factor) is like on the Air. I'd gladly go for the air if the camera is comparable to my iPhone 16 Pro Max but I doubt that'll be the case.

I don't know what Apple was thinking with this one.

Yeah I pickup because I'm within walking distance of an Apple store, but it's pretty interesting following this thread during the shipping phase; it's actually a lot more efficient than I thought, it's not until the local ground portion in my area that I wouldn't trust it.

Ok well I am going Orange PM this year! Something very very different and super bright! Wife is going Blue 17 pro

The colors are bland, but the form factor on the air is way better.

Yeah I don't know what kind of Kool-Aid they were drinking when they designed the pro max, it's definitely different; it's bringing back iPhone 5/5s vibes which was the last one that I hated.

I need all the battery I can get and use my camera a TON for work. Close up far away etc. The Air is so nice but I just can’t do it. Close though for sure

I don’t understand all the flight tracking stuff. I trust the process.
You def dont understand lol. Nobody does it bc they dont trust UPS. They enjoy tracking the phone and figuring out what plane its on etc. Makes the week go by faster.

You ever been excited for a package that you looked out the window for the delivery driver? Now imagine that x100.

I dont do it but enjoy reading the posts in here. One person even stood outside the airport and literally watched the plane land. Thats actually who started these threads but they were banned years ago

Apple really seems to have reduced the value of the Pro line this year with the significant base model upgrades. Not much of a difference in daily use case besides the cameras…

Also, what Pro features this year caused a $100 price increase over last year?

Don't get me wrong, I will most likely upgrade as I do every year, but for the first time Im actually hesitating a bit…

17 Pro Orange here. Wasnt able to select a pickup location yet as this will the very first iphone I pick up at an apple store a state away from where I live due to work

I actually thought the translator abilities were pretty cool, I don't know if I'll ever use it, maybe one of those I'd rather have it and not need it and vice versa tools.

I agree! The only thing that disappointed me slightly was IIRC the Google equivalent of the live translation feature actually mimics the speaker's voice, vs. using the assistant voice. That's pretty cool. BUT, if Apple's implementation ensures greater privacy (which is what I'd assume), it's a small price to pay.

So I am awaiting someone to adamantly post they are going to pick up their iPhone on launch day down at the UPS CC..... I am sure by now they noticed there is no longer a UPS CC to pick up from lol. there will be at least one that will claim to be able to do the pickup.
Yeah, and I was one of those people. Couple of times I even brought Krispy Kreme doughnuts to the workers at the UPS CC. And last year UPS put a stop to that. They want you going through the UPS store so they can sell you more goods and services. Probably just as well for me this year because I forgot to request to have launch Friday off, and I work for one of the major carriers, so I’ll get my phone in the late afternoon when I’m done with work oh well.

As much as I'd love to fly with all of you this year, I'm going for the "pickup" option this year. I go on vacation 2 days the following week and I don't want to risk that phone getting delayed for any reason. I still love the fun of UPS tracking though with y'all

Trying to get my pre pre order in on the Apple Store app. I’m leaning towards doing the carrier trade-in T-Mobile deal. I don’t mind being locked to TMo. It’s been great for years for me!

When can I get closer to finishing this pre pre order though? I can’t select ship or store pickup yet. Will that be available before Friday morning?

I want to be as quick as possible Froday morning - don’t want to run into any weird, time-consuming things.

And how does Apple know my account info with TMo to be able to process an upgrade? Hope it all goes smoothly!

Finally finished the preorder, apparently I had skipped one of the steps with the Apple Care, good thing I noticed it. I'm all set for 5 am Friday, I guess I'm going to have to set the alarm for the ungodly hour of 4:30am.

heavily debating between the orange and silver Pro Max

initially i was all silver but the orange has grown on me a bit.

Pros of the Silver: neutral color, looks classy like my silver 14in MBP, if i drop it or scratches appear it will be the least visible (i don’t use a case). timeless (chance i get bored/sick of the orange color?). not sure i like the orange side rails popping out when looking at the phone head on

Pros of orange: the new color. not sure i like the “two tone” of the silver + white glass back

so leaning heavily toward the silver. reading this thread, it looks like most if not all are going for orange.

i went with desert titanium last year because it was the new color (didn’t want to get natural titanium again) and was slightly disappointed that it was not really “desert” like brown but more rose gold. in some lights it looks pink. not enough for me to replace the color with something else or put a case/skin on it but still

so kinda hesitant getting this new orange color which is pretty bold

thoughts?
