I figure worst case I return and stick with what I’ve got. Lately this thing just feels so unwieldy.

And I just got my ship date bump notice, 9/19 now. :D

I purchased the Pro Max one time. That was the 11 PM. Over time, I realized that it just felt too big in my hand, and sometimes my hand would even start to hurt from holding it. I decided the next year to try the smaller Pro, but was concerned about screen size. For me, I haven’t looked back. The Pro feels so much more comfortable in my hand, and the screen size is more than adequate.

Also, yay on the updated ship date. Hope you enjoy your new phone!

It's reassuring to read stories like yours that validate my decision this year. I have had a PM since the 12 series and every year my hand and wrist have felt the size and weight more and more. It doesn't help that I have an office job and use a computer constantly. Carpal tunnel has set in and the PM exacerbates it. This year I preorder a Pro and I am looking forward to the effects.

Someone said changing after placing an order from your address to a UPS store can put a delay by about 1 day on the shipment.

I forgot the reason now, but the user also said then might not be able to receive it until Monday.

Has this been your experience? If I went the route of changing from my address to a UPS store, I wonder why I couldn’t pick it up on Saturday.
Apple has a special arrangement with UPS I wouldn't mess with it. One year we missed the UPS driver (Apple needs a signature or at least it has to be handed over to a person, not left at the door). I paid extra for a UPS pickup at their store, but when I got there waiting and waiting, I finally chat with an experience UPS worker and was told of this special arrangement which includes Saturday re-delivery and that UPS can't technically hand over your iPhone at the store. Normally, UPS doesn't deliver on Saturdays according to the employee, but for Apple they do. Now, of course, this arrangement could very well be different this year as compared to a few years ago.

Went to the Apple Store today to pick up my clear MagSafe case and charger. Got a good look at the Ultra 3, picking mine up next Friday. But I was disappointed that none of the iPhone 17s were on display. I chose Cosmic Orange and wanted to see what that color really looks like. I would think Apple would want the new phones on display to encourage people to pre-order them. My case shows that the new PM is slightly taller and seems quite a bit thicker. I knew that from reading the specs but it was different holding the case in my hand.

Even though I knew they didn't put the new models on display until launch day, I wandered into Apple today anyway just to check. Sadly, the answer I already knew, was true. No Cosmic Orange light to bask in. No Air to hold and revel in its featherlike sleekness while I questioned my 17 Pro preorder decision. One more week before we get to satisfy the itch.

UPS does deliver for Apple on Saturdays. Last year on launch day we only received one of the threes iPhones we ordered. I contacted UPS, they said a truck had broke down and they were working on moving all the packages to another truck, they would deliver the rest on Saturday. We received the other two phones before noon on Saturday.

My favorite iPhone was the XS. It fit so well in my hand. When they came out with the 11 Pro Max, I couldn't resist. Every year I vacillate about whether to get the Pro but I just can't give up the screen real estate. My first iPad Pro was the 12.9" model. I read a lot of posts by people who felt it was too big to handle comfortably, so my next one was the smaller one. I tried to love it but missed my big slab of glass. My current M4 is the 13". Sometimes awkward to handle but I love it. I'm glad Apple offers options for people with different preferences.

Unless Apple did something they have never done before, you were looking at the Ultra 2. Apple has never had products out to see before launch day.

I think you're right. I didn't realize that we were handling the Ultra 2, not the Ultra 3. I mentioned that I had pre-ordered the Ultra 3 and that I was anxious to try it on. No rep mentioned that I was actually trying on the Ultra 2. Oh well, no worries, next Friday will come soon enough.

Is it that difficult to add 6k or 8k recording after all these years? So disappointed in Apple and so way behind others.
For what? What practical application exists for that? The only reason Samsung does it is because they can, and it looks better on paper for people who don’t know any better.

We did it because we were paying about $26 for AppleCare just for the Vision Pro. Worth it for us.
Yeah, good point! I meant moving three of the $3/month AppleCare devices to the One didn't make sense, but definitely the Vision Pro, and MacBook Pro computers make it worth it to fill out the three devices with a cheaper item. And beyond the third device it again doesn't add up to move AirPods to the One program.

I've heard so many complain about it, but it's awesome in my device world.

For me even just doing my iPhone, Watch Ultra 2 & iPad works out cheaper with AppleCare One than paying separately even if its only by <$5 a month, once my 3 year AppleCare on my Mac runs out I might add it on too depending on whether its cheaper to pay individually or add a 4th device to ACO.
I had two MBPs and an iPad Pro with prepaid AppleCare, I got hundreds in refunds as I switched them from their prepaid to the One program! Definitely worth checking into if your per month cost of three devices is more than the $20 of the AppleCare One program.

Ordered my silver 256 GB 17 PM at 8:02 AM, confirmation email at 8:03 AM. Still showing a 9/25 delivery here with my order still in processing. Hoping to wake up to an update!
Checked just a bit ago, my order status is still in processing but my delivery has been bumped to 9/19. Here’s hoping everything is on track for launch now!
