USA here. I waited 30 mins in line last year at the Apple Store. I had pre-ordered.

They usually have 2 lines at the Apple Store one for pre-orders with a booked time and one for walk-ins.

Same, there was still a long line. With the walk-ins hardly anyone, but they were assigned one associate, the pre-order line moved faster.
