I guess I was one of the lucky ones in the US? Pre-pre-ordered a 17 Pro Max 1TB in Deep Blue sometime earlier this week. Hopped on the Apple Store app this morning to complete everything and was done with checkout by 4 minutes after the hour with a 9/19 shipping date.

Joking aside, they actually hit my Equifax for a hard pull this year, first time in the history of the upgrade program (I've been on it continually since the very first year).

I only got two approval emails though, so you're one email ahead. :)

Interesting!

Mine outside of the first time enrolling in iUP back when it started have always been soft pulls.

This time included or I would have been yelled at since I keep my files on perpetual lock until needed.

I ordered my Air first thinking it would be gone the quickest. Then my Pro. It's 12:45p and I can order the Air right now for ISPU in my area for 19th. Odd

Thank you. So assuming the "appointment line" should be short and go quickly? My pickup time is the first slot at 8am. So I should arrive a bit before?
They have the process super organized. Don't show up too early, they don't like that. There will be one line for pickup appointments and another for general public. They'll get you all sorted in line, and into the store when it's your time. It's usually pretty quick.

Same! Hard pull the first year and then never again...until this year. I was a whole mess this year though. My credit was compromised as a result of the AT&T breach last year, so I had all three bureaus frozen, plus a fraud alert on all of them. At first, I removed the freeze but forgot about the fraud alert, which really goofed things up. Finally got that sorted, and got the final approval this morning 2 hours after I made my order. They hit my credit for a hard pull on Wednesday when I did the pre-pre-order.

A few words to prepare you for next week's shipments. This is based on last decade of data points. It may be a bit different if phones are coming from India instead as we've not tracked those phones on launch day previously.

Apple will not report "Shipping" until the phone clears Customs in Louisville next Thursday, even though you can track its movements on UPS site and app by using tricks (UPS Choice, for example, or entering the correct number of digits from your phone number or order number) that show it actually leaving Asia on Monday.

Many people freak out when Apple hasn't said "Shipping" just days before it is supposed to be at your house. 99+% of phones will arrive on Friday if that is the date Apple says it will deliver. UPS can deliver on Friday if they ship it out of Asia on Thursday. Your phone will arrive on Friday whether UPS reports it leaving Asia on Monday or Thursday. It is just a matter of where it sits during the week- early shipments will sit in Louisville with no updates until Thursday and shipments that leave Asia on Thursday will sit in Asia during that time. Weather issues in your region may impact your delivery if they can't drive or fly it to your local UPS center.

You will not believe the number of pages next week of people thinking they won't get their phones, and on Friday evening almost everyone will have taken delivery.

It is nice to have folks with whom to commiserate and celebrate as the phones make their way to their new homes!

Good, thorough explanation. For those who want to track as early as possible, I was able to see mine in UPS last year on Sunday. Use track by reference on UPS and use your order number minus the last 2 numbers. I'm not saying it will work again this year, but worked last year.

Apple Card financed here but used TMO which is not going to be the carrier - mine is Visible.

$0 connection fee.

Please let me know if this works. I got nervous and purchased the unlocked version to use with mint mobile. I would like to use Apple Card financing with the T-Mobile version but don’t know if I would have issues with activation on prepaid/MINT.

For those with a 9/19 delivery date, what’s the shipping method listed? I noticed that my 9/25 order says “Sep 25 by Express Shipping”, but every iPhone pre-order I’ve ever done has said “by Standard Shipping”. Wonder if this part of the issue

Ordered my phone this morning, within 5 minutes past the hour, and received 25th as the estimated delivery date. I hesitated for a store pickup as I didn't want to deal with the crowds. I just tried to place another order, and the ETA for delivery is 9/19. Based on that, I am willing to bet that the 25th will be updated to the 19th or soon thereafter.

Maybe our phones are actually coming from different factories this time India and china and that difference is causing a glitch

here what i found

Yes, if you purchase an iPhone through Apple's Apple Card Monthly Installments (ACMI) program and select T-Mobile (or Verizon) at checkout, the phone will generally arrive unlocked, allowing you to switch to any carrier that supports eSIM later. You need an active T-Mobile number to complete the initial purchase and setup, but you can bypass the carrier activation process by selecting the "Continue" or "Set up later" option multiple times

Half the fun is going to the store and getting it early in the morning along with all the other crazy people. And then you have the rest of the day to set it up! And if you can pick it up in a state that doesn't charge any sales tax, that's an added bonus...
We were literally 1st in line for the 15 and got the first 815am slot today again :) It's fun walking over (like a 3 minute walk to our store!) with coffee early, jumping in front of everything, and getting out before the madness of the day.

Canceled my 8:02 order for 9/25 delivery finally, was able to order in store pickup form an Apple Store 3 hours away lol, base 17 in Sage 256gb.
3 hours each way??? Dedication!

We did the base too last minute. 1 white, 1 black, but that Sage is beautiful! Never thought I would be looking forward to a base this much :) Still puzzled at the odd low price (a little over $700 with military) - just wasn't worth the "downgrade" and $300 more for the air per phone for us.
